Thanks for the heads up.
That was a solid interview.
Spurs have been looking at him since he was released and with the CBA.
Went undrafted and went to China...then went to school to complete his degree (Business). Randy Brown saw him in one-on-one tourney and said to the Bulls, hey bring this kid in.
One thing about the Spurs, they look at character.
"I bring energy", passing as well as defense and scoring. An all-around basketball player.
Looks at Scottie Pippen as someone he wants to pattern himself after.
Wants to work on shot consistency and he feels he has a wonderful shot but wants to improve on it, as well as all facets of his game.
Short interview but nice to hear from him.
Don thinks Linton will be in the regular rotation as long as the injury doesn't hamper him too much. Linton is a patch to what the Spurs lacked last year. During the playoffs last season, the Spurs did not get anything out of Bruce Bowen offensively, and Don feels the Spurs would like to develop Linton into a more offensively capable BB.
The fact that the Bulls let him go is a great sign that he'll be a good player.
Nice job, Solid D. Good transcript.
The funny thing is Don said all that about him without ever seeing him play. So either he's a good guesser, or the Spurs have made it known quietly how much they like him.
If he can add a jump shot, the Spurs have another steal.
P.S.
His comments about Bruce Bowen sounded a lot like what I said in that Devin Brown thread.
Hmmmmm![]()
If he can develop a jump shot...
Yeah, and if a bullfrog had wings he wouldn't bump his ass when he jumped.
Most of these guys have most all the talent they are going to develop by the time they've been around the league a year or two. They might polish it up some as AJ did, but a guy like Linton is unlikely to become a proficient shooter.
Everyone who joins the Spurs becomes a better shooter. Everyone who leaves the Bulls becomes a better shooter.
He has two good things working for him.
