We have some friends from China and we went out to eat last night with them and I was telling Tong that during the playoffs, we had this big influx of posters from China Spurs and other Chinese websites. I told him I thought it was odd the NBA was so popular in China and, furthermore, that Tim Duncan was supposedly one of the most popular players there. He said basketball has been getting more and more popular since Yao Ming was drafted, and Tim is so popular there because of his demeanor. He said they give all the players nicknames. Tim's is "fishwa" which means Stone Buddha. He didn't say anything about Boobie and I didn't want to ask. Anyway, I thought it was cool.
