I posted this on an earlier thread and it seems this guy is starting to make some noise in the NBA draft camps.

    Brad Newley
Looks like the Spurs are looking at another aussie. Came across this on draftexpress ..http://www.draftexpress.com/viewprofile.php?p=341#
spurs requested tapes on him. (says in the article on the outlook part)

    the lasted news link.

I like newley as a player and being an aussie i get to see alot of him. The guy is an offencive machine. He has a decent shoot (I don't know about NBA 3pt Range though) He gets to the rim at ease. FTs are a bit shaky.
He is to thin even for austrailian ball but if he puts on some muscle, i don't see why he could become a servicable nba player.
Career number are 17.5 points per at 47% from the field

I think that's worse than being compared to Rasho without the height.

Plus the Brand Newly jokes would get old fast.

Well I did this last season, I pimped Bogut as our first round pick... then he sky rocketed to no1. This time I've held off, maybe the Spurs can grab Brad in the late second round

    Anyway:

    Draft Express Profile

    nbadraft.net Profile

    NBL Profile

Article about workouts/orlando camp (mentions Manu and Udrih)

Draftexpress Newley review from Orlando camp (scroll down)

I like him a lot, he can shoot off the dribble and from behind the arc. He average 16ppg @ 52% (off the bench) in his rookie year and was the all star MVP that year scoring 35points. He upped his scoring this year to 19ppg, pulled in 5 boards and dished out 4 assists.

Many over here feel he is of the same caliber as Bogut (I'm not quite sold) but instead of going to college he stayed in Australia and competed in the NBL (National Basketball League).

At 6'6, he is not exactly a long three but those comparisons to Manu sure warrent some attention

Should be interesting to see if he is drafted this year or has to wait till next year as many sites project at this point in time.

I know the NBL game is house, but he dominated it. It's not like many people there have deserved a call up, but he probably does. Theres no denying that he made a stupid decision to play in the NBL and not college though.
