This breaking news: According to Slick Watts, the Sonics will not move out of the Seattle area because that's what team president Wally Walker told him. Walker was also at Thursday night's gala, and I tried to interview him, but he was talking to Jamie and Karen Moyer at the time, plus deadline approached and a cold Corona with a floating lime was waiting back at my workspace. ... The original voice of the Sonics, Bob Blackburn, was talking to the current voice of the Sonics, Kevin Calabro, telling him that he and his wife, Pat, will celebrate their 58th wedding anniversary June 19. "We have never raised our voice to each other," Blackburn said, and I was thinking, you've got to be kidding. ... It's just a formality now, but Lenny Wilkens will become Calabro's analyst on FSN's telecasts of Sonics games next year, but Wilkens hasn't ruled out coaching again. "I resigned from New York, but I didn't resign from basketball," he said. ... Sonics assistant coach Jack Sikma said he wants to be a head coach someday, "but I'm not in a hurry to be."
