I feel bad for all spur play players except for nazr, rasho and beno
Would you guys feels bad for Finley if Dallas wins the championship? Even though they wont......

Did Cuban's check bounce?
Dallas won't win. If they get by Phoenix, there's no way Avery will bait Riley into going small. Miami will dominate with Shaq and Wade.
I feel bad for the whole team though, especially Tim and Manu. They got us back into Game 7 and just couldn't finish. Tim wanted it bad.
No.
Dallas stole their playbook.
Have a owner swaying refs decisions in games.
I'm happy he isn't apart of it and he is too I bet.
, as a Mavs fan I feel bad for Finley and Nash. They both gave their all while they were here and were class acts all the way. While I was watching the team celebrate postgame, I felt a little sad that we couldn't do this with Nash and Finley because they were loyal for so long(especally Finley who didn't have a choice in leaving). They both wound up in great situations but as a long time suffering Mavs fan I wish guys like Finley and Nash could have been rewarded for all their time here.
me too i wish they could be here and hopefully bring a championship to dallas like they tried so hard to do for years.
No question.
The guy gave his guts and soul to the Mavericks and all he got was boos and a check.
AJ gave his guts and soul to the Spurs...
he also chose to go the mavericks instead of the Spurs.
Well, he didn't exactly have a choice. He did get a check though and apparently not that much love.
Finley is still loved in dallas by all true fans.....growing up he was my favorite player and the only good part of a few terrible dallas teams....finley lead the way to todays new and improved mavericks.
avery had a choice.Well, he didn't exactly have a choice
coach in SA or coach in Dallas.
He chose Dallas.
Afer his actions in these past playoffs? Hes dead to me.
That was in reference to AJ. Finley did carry that franchise for a while though.
How did he first end up in Dallas?
So he opted to be a head coach sooner than 5 years from now when Pop steps down. Can you blame him for that?
This is almost comical. Did Portland fans excommunicate Jerome Kersey from his rightful place in franchise history when he helped the Spurs beat them in the '99 championship run?
im sure he lays awake at night because of it![]()

riiiiiiiiiiiight, cause pop was ready to give up the reigns.....ridiculous post
i feel for both finley and nash but more so for finley, he didn't have any choice but to seek out another team and i don't fault him for going with the team that he thought would get him a ring
typical stupid post by a maverick troll.riiiiiiiiiiiight, cause pop was ready to give up the reigns.....ridiculous post
Nelly wasn't "ready to give up" the reigns either when Avery signed there.
Nelly was fired by Cuban, if you want to dispute that, PLEASE do.
Nelly was responsible for getting Avery back with the Mavs after he went to Golden State. Nelly may have had pressure to step down but he knew well before that time came that Avery was his successor. Avery coached when Nelly was ill, Avery ran practice sessions, AVERY WAS ALREADY BEING GROOMED FOR THE JOB BY NELLY! Anyway, you think Avery's opportunities would have been the same had he gone to San Antonio? Would Holt have fired Pop sooner rather than say five years from now? How long would Avery have had to wait for an opportunity to coach the Spurs? Where was the official offer from the Spurs to come back and coach? You have a link to an article discussing this offer? I'd like to see that, please.
Avery had no hope of head coaching in San Antonio for a long long long time. He could have come back here as a player for one year. Then there was likely an assistant coaching opportunity here for him if he really wanted it. He and Pop got together at Pop's house and talked about it (Avery coming back as a player) and they both agreed that Dallas would be a better place for him because he could likely move up the ladder relatively soon there.
i am proud of finley. He did what he thought was right.
Nelly wasn't fired...he more or less quit. At the time Avery was taking over a lot of the responsibilities for Nellie(he actually coached a few regular season games) and the players responded better to Avery. Cuban could see that Nellie had lost a little passion for coaching(might have been because their relationship wasn't as good) and wanted Avery to take over. Nellie's main sticking point was that he wanted to get paid in full the rest of his coaching contract that he had with the team. Once Cuban guaranteed that Nellie stepped down pretty willingly. If he hadn't Nellie would have coached at least the rest of the year while continuing to have Avery do most of the work.
