I missed Sager.. what did he say?
He said that Bob Delaney (ref) was beside him on the plane to Phoenix and was watching tape in fast forward of the game.
He said the reason the refs watch the game in fast forward is because it trains their eye muscles to work faster and see things happening in the faster pace of the games.
Actually, on second thought, that probably explains why the refs suck so much ass. They anticipate everything before it happens

Like I said, I don't see sports medicine docs, team trainers, etc., strapping the players into chairs, tapeing their eyes open, and making them watch 24 hours of game film in fast forward to 'slow the game down in real time'.

I didn't buy anything, nor did I discount anything. I've heard of far more ridiculous things than watching a game in fast forward, so I didn't think anything of it one way or another.
