FACT: Larry Brown will be bought out/fired/ousted as the NYK coach before next year.

FACT: Most of the blame for this years playoff underachievement is placed on the shoulders of Greg Popovich. Very little credit is given to our opponent.
FACT: A "shakeup" to bring back the excitement and spotlight to San Antonio Spurs basketball is looming and appropriately in order.
FACT: Hiring Larry Brown would do just that.

What do you think?? I'm NOT asking how "likely" you think it is...if it could happen, what do you think are the pros/cons? Would it work...or fail?

    SOUND OFF:

    Sean Elliot as a coach??

    Nah, I don't see that.

If I had to chose I'd chose a LB over Elliot....that being said...

How excited would I be? 10 seconds..because then he would be leaving SA... again.

Larry Brown is psychotic, and alienates every player who plays for him, eventually. He'll be crying and looking for job by Thanksgiving. No thanks.

You would't be firing him over one playoff lose. You would be firing him because he sucks. You remember everyone calling for his him to be cut during the regualr season. Even if we won we still need a new coach.

Yes and no. I'd hate to see Pop go, but I do blame him for this playoff loss. But like T Park said, I woudln't fire him over just 1.

LB already has great chemistry with TD though and he's a great coach. I'd take him

Pop is a great coach. Larry Brown is an overtalker.

Meanwhile, Pat Riley had to resort to going small in the 2nd half when Dallas went small.

If Pop were to retire ( which I hope he has no plans of), I would want Coach Carlesimo to take over.

Look er...stop taking yourself so seriously. It's a "what if". This thread is reserved for opinions on the "what if". Nobody's saying it's going to happen. You should find something better to do than replying to threads that "suck ass" instead of wanting to see your name again. Ooops, you've already ed that up by about 2,000 posts. Sorry...

...anyway moving on-anyone with a brain want to reply with a purpose?

There's no way to take the question seriously when three out of four "FACTS" are utterly false. I'll grant that LB is likely on his way out with the Knicks. Aside from that, the Pop haters need to stop knee jerking, give a little credit to the Mavs for having a team that gave the Spurs match-up problems, and realize that we were literally a call/bounce or two away from another trip to the finals. Do the Spurs need to make some personnel changes - subtle as they may be - to the team during this offseason? Yes. Is a coaching change even in the top 20 (or 50) things that would improve the team? No.

    He did?

From what I saw Walker/Haslem were in at the 4 most of the game.

Youre right. It was all Pop. It had nothing to do with Manu turning it over in game 3. Or Duncan missing a baby hook at the end of regulation in game 4. Pop was the reason Manu fouled Dirk in game 7. He obviously told his team to foul. Pop was the reason both Manu and Duncan missed potential game winners at the end of regulation in that game. Pop is just awful.

    Been there. Done that.

Anyways, if Pop wanted to have LB join his staff as an assistant, that might work.
