Javtokas. No buyout and likely a lower initial asking price.
I know no one knows for sure but just by hunch or by possibility. Which player has the best chance of coming over to the Spurs for the next season. Scola or Jovotkas? This is for a keepers league I am joining and I am thinking of drafting one of these guys as my free agent list.
Javtokas. No buyout and likely a lower initial asking price.
Ask the Israelis.
Otherwise we'll know in 3-4 weeks.
I think he comes. Scola will get traded in my opinion. I hope we can get both, but it seems like the Spurs have lost interest in bring Scola over. That's just my opinion though.
Both but Javtokas more. According to SpursReport.com , Javtokas's agent said they are already finalizing the contract.
Javtokas is coming and that was determined last year.
I hope we can get a 1st round pick this year for Scola. After what happened last year
I don't thing scola will ever be in a spurs uniform/
That's just an article recapping what has been in the Lithuanian papers (plus some added quote from an anonymous source supposedly close to the situation). It's not new news.
You can read all about it here in a thread from 2 weeks ago.

There are rumors out there that TAU is close to signing Keya Peker, an excellent post player from Turkey. He will not come cheap to TAU and thus, it may be an indication they are preparing for life without Luis Scola.
Interesting. Wasn't Peker in summer league and got hurt/sucked?
scola is coming over
whether it is for the "cheap spurs or the best deal for spurs out there"
Kaya Peker averaged 11.9 ppg and 5.6 rpg (23 mpg) for Efes in Euroleague this season.
Kaya was with the Spurs Summer League team in 2004 but said he had an injured leg and acted disinterested back then. Maybe he was hormonal. See MistiLynn's comments on the subject.

I found the article I had referenced. It was on the Turkish Eurobasket site.

Peker To TAU? - Jun. 13, 2006 - by Serdar Ortakuyu
Efes Pilsen big man Kaya Peker (207-C/F-80, agency: Court Side) is still being rumored to join Spanish powerhouse TAU Ceramica. According to the Baskonian sources Kaya Peker (207-C/F-80, agency: Court Side) has a pre agreement with ACB finalists.
On today's edition of El Correa newspaper Serkan Erdogan (190-G-78, agency: Interperformances) who is currently playing for the Baskonian side made a statement about his friend Kaya Peker (207-C/F-80, agency: Court Side) and said "He is a very complete player, very good in all facts of the game. You will see he is a perfect fit for a club like Tau Ceramica."
An important thing with Scola is that his contract expire with Tau in 2007 or 2008.
It's a big edge to negociate his buyout because he can say :
- The nba is now or never to me : in 2007 or 2008, I will be too old to make the transition and i don't want to be in the same case han oberto.
- If you don't let me go in nba, I will sign with another Spanish team like Barcelona or Madrid at the end of my contract.
Vlade Divac who works now for Madrid has said he would like to sign Scola. Scola in another Spanish team is the worst thing for Tau.

i dont really care, its a lose lose situation for us and tau, so tau if they want a high buyout.
lets just bring them all and let pop sort them out

Im joking about bring them all over, but the time on scola is running out, and with naz testing the waters, and rasho being rasho it wouldnt be a bad idea to bring Javtokas.
