Lior Eliyahu - the next of the Spurs' foreign legion?

Lior Eliyahu -- remember that name. (At least for the next hour or two).

Actually, of all the long-shot draft picks the mocks ticket for the Spurs, he may be the best. A 6'8" 19 year old SF holding his own aganist the older guys in Europe. Shooter and athletic, too.

Only problem -- he's in the army now. The Israeli army until '07. So unless a monumental peace happens in the Mideast, we gotta wait.

This player may be worth it.

Seems like an extreme project with tons to work on, including his lousy defense and outside shot, two musts in the Spurs' system. His time in the army is just going to stunt this.

Could take a flyer on him, but it's likely there are more attractive prospects at this point.

I read his profile on NBADraft.net and I think I saw that he's too skinny for a power forward and doesn't have the range for small forward.
