I just noticed this. This Heat team that won the 'chip is almost alike with the '99 Spurs. Timmy was in his 2nd year (or 3rd?) when he won his first le like Wade, who just won it in his 3rd year. They had the help of future Hall of Fame aging centers, David and Shaq, respectively. Sean Elliott and Alonzo Mourning both played after recovering from a kidney transplant. Payton and Avery were both aging vets. Quite a connection. Do yall think the Heat is following the Spurs's footsteps here??? I hope not, and hope the Spurs continue their success, and im sure its a coincidence, but thats somethin to think about. DWade is a rising superstar with a Hall of Fame coach...

Wade is AWESOME, but ask AI how tough it is to get to just ONE Finals with no reliable big man. Shaq is definitely slipping, and I think his effective career can be measured in 1 or 2 years. He'll probably collect checks for the four remaining years, but after that, it's going to be mighty tough for Wade to carry on alone.

hey man, DWade is still young and rising and Shaqs got 4 years left on his contract, history might be repeating itself!!! like violentkitten says, maybe they can win it in even years while we continue our odd years trend

Well if the parallel holds, the Heat should win again in four years, just in time for Shaqqy's retirement.

tim duncan won it with a bunch of scrub players on the bench who either had bounce around the league on bad teams.

dont even dare to compare the heat to spurs 99. who imo duncan played out his mind

Heat are good but not Laker 2001 good. They can be dethroned.

If the Heat are the Spurs, then does this make us the Lakers? And does this mean that we'll win three les in a row?

    YEAH!!!

lol seriously, Miami will have some age issues to deal with if they want to contend for a few years down the road. (Who replaces Zo again?)

Our core is set for the next 4-5 years though. Isn't Shaq like one or two years away from retirement?
