Well, Heat are the world champs. That sounds better than the alternative!

But it still leaves these questions: how did this happen? Are we in a parallel universe.

    This whole playoffs was weird.

Lakers> Suns but Suns won anyway
Clips certainly > Suns but Suns won any way

It appeared that Spurs > Mavs but Mavs beat Spurs???
    In the second round???

Heat >>> Chicago but it turns out that Chicago was almost as good

Nets >>>> Heat (from regular season) but Heat destroyed Nets in 5

Pistons >>>> Heat (regular season and past) but Heat owned Pistons (wow!)

Dallas < Heat but at first it looked like Dallas >>>> Heat but then Heat took Mavs. Interesting.

And Wade gets a ring and a finals mvp before LeBron.

It's like a strange dream or something. and part of it was a nightmare.

    Yes, I do.

Nothing new today about me. I am a math student, but I was one yesterday also.

My classes are not optimal summer I and I am greatly frustrated by assignments today.

    Maybe that's it.

I am somewhat similar to Charlie on Numbers in the way that I think and I see a lot of the math that they use on the show.

Numbers is about to start. On CBS. DVR to the rescue.

    Unfortunately, a rerun.

Lots of probability and statistics in this one.

    Poker.

Returning from the boring tangent, why did this happen?

It was like Freaky Friday for the whole playoffs.

I can understand Lakers losing to Suns. They shouldn't have, but Lakers aren't that great in the paint. So they can't capitalize on where the Suns are weak.

But the Clips definitely should have beaten the Suns. The Clippers have great big men in Elton Brand and Kaman. Plus, SamIam to take care of the rook and to make big shots.

Got Magette and Mobley going to the rim. Radmonovic off the bench from distance. Livingston giving solid backup point.

    Much better defense.

So, how did Suns win? Home court and the fact that Clips were too young?

I think every year the playoffs are a bit unpredictable... when was the last time a team didn't get upset?

I would honestly say that '99 was probably the weirdest playoffs ever. Mostly due to an 8 seed (and going through a 1 and 2 seed on the way I believe) making it to the Finals and the Spurs sweeping through the WCSF and WCF.

    [QUOTE=Brutalis]Prove it! What's 3x5?[/QUOTE

    the derivative of 15 x + 1

There is actually a book in my field of analysis which I am concentrating on which is called how to prove it.

Mostly, we prove different theorems. The more I learn and the more research I do, the dumber I feel and the more I realize I don't know. The old guys like Euler were really amazing.

That brings up the point about when the Rockets as a 6 seed won it all. The only time that happened right?

NBA tv. Hakeem was just the best. He was my favorite Rocket.

I hate how they call the 99 championship the one with the asterisk. We got away with having older guys on our team because of that.

Also, the Memorial Day Miracle was amazing. Jaren Jackson had his one good season. We swept Kobe and Shaq and the trailblazers. Knicks had Patrick injured.

Things kind of got rightly aligned in the stars.

I know what you are saying. That unintentional pun comes up a lot.

1 of my friends in 1 of my classes has his master's in ee and now is getting a second master's degree (this one in math like me).

Very strange postseason indeed. Suns just had a little more experience (outside of Kobe & Cassell) than the Lakers & the Clippers I think. I always thought that the Spurs & Mavs were about equal going into that series. I thought the Mavs could win it but I certainly wasn't betting on it. I think if someone put a gun to my head and said to pick the winner I would have picked the Spurs just cuz they had homecourt. I was absolutely SHOCKED that Pop decided to play small ball with the Mavs. I knew the Mavs had a great chance when they did that. In the East, it's apparent now that the Heat just needed time to mold cuz they were the best team in the playoffs. Pistons needed more depth. 7 man rotation is 1-2 men short in my opinion.
