almost 5 million usa dollars
Luis Scola's buyout has decreased in the current year till 4 million euro. The problem is that San Antonio Spurs, the team which belongs their rights to does not want another powr forward after trade Radoslav Nesterovic (212-C-76) for Matt Bonner (206-F-80, college: Florida) and they could trade player's rigths to another franchise. San Antonio's target is Robertas Javtokas (211-C-80, agency: Interperformances, college: Arizona).
- Winterthur Barcelona has a hard at ude about Juan Carlos Navarro's escape and they are not going to reduce his buyout: 10 millions

javtokas went to arizona? is that right?
Ouch. His contract is up after this next year though right?
He went back in the late 1990's but left after a semester into his freshman year because he got a contract to play back overseas.
if this is true he would want teh full mle
NO THANKYOU
This buyout price Tau set is higher than they got for Nocioni, no? My understanding is that in the past Tau has relied on the buyout money to replenish with new players.
How much of the buyout price is a bluffing game? Tau setting a high price and Scola saying he'll become a free agent next year. I'd think Tau might come down a bit or they'll almost certainly lose Scola for nothing next year and Splitter, I believe, is also a free agent next year who they'll lose without compensation.
Could Scola be a sign-and-trade candidate? Can the Spurs sign Scola to the MLE and then put him into a trade package?
I don't think any team would trade for someone they had to pay, say, $5 million next year with no chance of him playing in that year. When they could just trade for the rights to sign him.
No you can't do a S&T when you use the MLE to sign a player.
However, we can trade him 30 days after his signing. (because he is a draft pick, you had to wait until december 15th for FA)
We don't need another Scola thread. In the other thread, it's already linked to an article stating his buyout is 4M.
