NO. NO. NO.
Dude was working for a contract in the playoffs. Nothing more, nothing less.

This guy made $8 million last year and is a free agent this summer. He may need to get a paycut for a longer contract as he draws near to 30.
Sacramento just drafted Quincy Douby and, with their overall guard corps, may not be looking to retain him.
His stats last year:
13.6 ppg 7.7 rpg 2.8 apg 2.4 to/g 1.8 spg
And as well all know, vs. SA in the playoffs:
23 ppg 61% fg 62.5% 3s 12 rpg
With his head screwed on straight and at the MLE, he would be incredible off the bench. Obviously, at least one of those two things is unlikely.
The Spurs need game-changing talent off the bench. Thoughts?

He's gonna get paid, and the spurs aren't gonna pay him
again 6 teams can offer him more then the mle
and most of those are lossing teams
I would think wells would want to win
kings can offer him the most.....
but now they have a new coach
he is older this could be his last contract though
do you really think he would want to go the hawks though?
He's going to the largest check writer.
I'm just having this fantasy moment dreaming of how good he'd be if he had a brain/at ude transplant. The guy is freakishly good when he wants to be.
i hope bonzi stays in sac. while i am sure that part of his impressive playoff campaign was due to ensuring a fat payday, i think he really wants to win and can be an absolute beast when the effort and focus are there. i hope he does not go anywhere, he would be sick in a spurs lineup.
Yeah he's never struck me as a "play for the love of the game" kinda guy. He's been in a lot of trouble too. I'll pass. We need Speedy.
Bonzi is another 6th man extrordinaire type to me. He would be an excellent starter too if healthy and focused. But he has had injuries lately and hasn' t been the same player since 2001-02 (until the Spurs series came along). Well actually Bonzi was solid this regular season as well. But he is getting up their in age and he is a walking time bomb.
I doubt he plays near his playoff level ever again in the playoffs. But he still could be a solid contributor on any team.
You, Memphis, Portland have all fantasized about it...I'm just having this fantasy moment dreaming of how good he'd be if he had a brain/at ude transplant
yeah speedy is so much better then him
and is so much healthier then him to![]()

. He HATED being in Memphis, because they ran a structured offense. Guess what? So do we...
He's a of a lot better on defense I'll tell you that much right now.
If you really believe that, you are an idiot.
uh.. saying he is not a good fit for the spurs, sure. but scrub? forgot the stat averages he had against the spurs in the playoffs so soon? i admit bonzi can at anytime blow up but its obvious that when he is happy his club will reap the rewards.
if he came to sa
he would know that
it would be his choice it would not be he was forced to the spurs because he demanded to be traded
he is not coming so why even discuss him?
I remember Game 6...
Totally stiffed.
does 23 and 12 ring a bell then...
I remember him stinking in that game and the Kings getting blown out by 30.
That rings a bell.
But to think the guy isn't a peanut head wacko?
Thats just burying your head in the sand.
17 points and 11 boards on 6 of 9 shooting in Game 6. You think that is bad?
yeah i suppose i would hate the guy too if he did whatever he wanted against my team.
