Too hard to answer.
I was given the first seven seasons on DVD for Christmas, spent a ridiculous amount of time watching them all, and each episode from season three on became my new favorite.
I've watched a load of Simpsons in my 27 years and the one where Homer blows out his knee and starts a day care center is the ing best one ever.
What episode do you think is the greatest?

Where do you begin to narrow that down?
Maybe Homerpalooza, The Itchie & Scratchie & Poochie Show, or Marge versus the Monorail. Dude it is impossible to narrow it down to like 10 or 20, let alone one. Basically I think that the Simpsons were in their prime from like Season 3-11 or so. I still like the new ones a lot, but it seems like during those middle years each one was better than the previous episode.
Favorite characters are Homer (obviously), Moe, Milhouse, and any Phil Hartman character.
My favorite episode is the one with the Mr. Grimes character, or like Homer liked to call him Grimey.![]()
There was a pretty funny one with Grimey's son.
My favorite characters are Homer, The Flanders boys (Rod and Todd), Milhouse and Ralph.

My favorite is the episode where Homer eats the Japanese "death fish" and has 24 hours to live. When the radio is on the next day, as Homer learns he lived through the night, the announcer says, "...and the San Antonio Spurs are favored to win the NBA championship."![]()
The one where Mare gets a boob job is hilarious....
There are so many great ones but the one where Homer smokes marijuana is definitely my favorite. That look on his face the whole time is hilarious just by itself.
The one where Milhouse's parents get a divorce.
Did you see the futuristic episode and how Rod n Todd turned out?![]()
The one where Lisa is president. Bart goes next door and borrows money from Ned and Todd n Rodd are out in the front yard dressed in....![]()
Some favorites:
The Stonecutters secret society.
Troy McClure makes a comeback and marries Selma. (Planet of the Apes-the Opera. Remember when he was about to kiss Selma and he pulls out a breath freshner spray and sprays her.)![]()
Boy Band parody. (Just Reinlist)
Tommaco plants.
LuraLee the Country Singer w Homer as her manager
Skinner locks Jimbo, Kearny and the other bullies in the school basement.
Homer: Marge? Since I'm not talking to Lisa, would you please ask her to pass me the syrup?
Marge: Dear, please pass your father the syrup, Lisa.
Lisa: Bart, tell Dad I will only pass the syrup if it won't be used on any meat product.
Bart: You dunkin' your sausages in that syrup homeboy?
Homer: Marge, tell Bart I just want to drink a nice glass of syrup like I do every morning.
Marge: Tell him yourself, you're ignoring Lisa, not Bart.
Homer: Bart, thank your mother for pointing that out.
Marge: Homer, you're not not-talking to me and secondly I heard what you said.
Homer: Lisa, tell your mother to get off my case.
Bart: Uhhh, dad, Lisa's the one you're not talking to.
Homer: Bart, go to your room.
The grifting one was pretty good. My favorite character is the sarcastic guy by far. They don't use him nearly enough.
The Who Shot Burns was such great end of season suspence.
I remember neing in elementary an asking everyone who they thought did it.
I liked the episode where Bart sold his soul to Milhouse.
I love the episode where Lisa gives Ralph Wiggum a Valentine and it reads, "I Cho Cho Choose you." And he invites her to the Krusty the Clown Anniversary Show and he tells everybody, live on tv, that he loves Lisa Simpson. She blows up and says she doesn't like him and his little heart breaks and Bart recorded it and keeps playing back that part for her.![]()
That one is on my top 5 list. It's ing funny.
I like the one where bart breaks his leg, and asks Milhouse to sign his cast, and Milhouse writes "MILPOol" hahahahaha
milpool
Also, when Homer joins Lollapalooza and at the beginning wears that big jamaican hat, and they all start calling him a narc. "Who's the narc?" "That fat jamaican guy over there"
hahahaha
Actually, Homer falls asleep listening to Larry King reading The Bible on tape. His comment about the Spurs is at the end as he's signing off.
Now, I think I'll just slink back into geekdom.
Monoxonil restored Homers hair.He rose to the top of the corporate ladder and was given that personal assistant named Carl who was super helpful. Then Bart spilled the bottle.
it was G H Bush, not dubya
I always loved the one where Bart goes to France.
Some of my favorites...
When Homer stays home from church.
When Homer buys a gun.
When Homer eats a wicked pepper in a chili contest.
And of course the Stonecutter episode.
