He'll go where he has a better chance to play. Also likely to a team with a more open offense than the dump n chuck.
Why not give Jay Williams a shot to beat out Beno for the backup PG position. he is looking for a team to take a chance on him and from the reports I've read he is playing more like a traditional point than he did before his accident.

How about trade Beno and find a veteran point who Pop has confidence in?
it. Bring back Vinny Del Negro.
Why didn't Pop give Brent Barry a shot at backup PG? He ran the point in Seattle and put up some crazy numbers. The Spurs had a veteran PG, they just didn't give him any play at point. In the off chance the Spurs keep him, hopefully they'll rectify that.
That deal hasn't even gone through yet (because of Battier being BYC it can't go through til the 12th). There's rumors that it's part of bigger trade and that Stromile isn't staying in Memphis.
You don't win championships with dumb-as-a-box-of-rocks players like Stromile Swift. You need talent; you need smart talent.
The "Stro Show" was given a fair oppurtunity to win a starting job last year and was beaten out by an old Juwan Howard. That's one guy that when his freak athleticism goes as he gets older, oh boy is he going to be done.
If it were possible: THe Spurs sign John Stockton.
CJ Watson ain't bad. Give 'em a look. He can play at both ends.
The Spurs still need a second PG. I like the idea of Barry getting minutes running the offense. He did very well playing backup point in the ultimate crunch-time game, game 7 of the 2005 Finals. Beno's a bust... can't win 'em all, even if you are RC Buford.
Jeff McInnis would at least keep the offensive pressure up and not turn the ball over to Chuck Hayes.
I'm not confident we could get any other veteran but Moochie Norris -- maybe Mike Wilks, so if no Jeff I'd go with some NBDL fodder who isn't a TO machine -- Aaron Miles (all-arounder) or Derek Zimmerman (lockdown defender).
sorry hes busy playing 2nd base for the Cardinals.Aaron Miles
there must be more than one.
This is the guy I'm on about:

He got quite a bit more aggro as the season wound down.

There obviously is
The Aaron Miles that plays basketball could prob hit better than the the one in baseball.
Jeff Mcinnis wouldn't be bad, but Id prefer Jacque Vaughn just like New Jersey did last year.
You are delusional if you think Tony will play 40 mins a game.
True, he's probably available now and wouldn't hurt us too much on either side of the ball.Id prefer Jacque Vaughn just like New Jersey did last year.
Sign Kevin Willis, he can play on all positions. He could be our 3rd PG. Backup for Beno.
What sport are we playing, again?![]()
Court, then?
I'm fortunate to remember the words after getting back from the bar.
Could this CJ kid be a diamond in the rough?
Seems intriguing to a point.
