Random question about Zach Randolph: what do you do with him if you're the Blazers?

Is he tradeable under any conditions? Can he be rehabilitated? Should they just cut him outright and rebuild around their youngsters?

Oops: I meant to post this to the NBA forum. Sorry.

    Speaking of the Blazers....

It was rumored that Miles would be on the trading block....

He's a long SF, who has offense and is capable of defending, but is a trouble maker, and would probably need the ball a lot to be effective.....Oh well

I have always like Miles' potential. He can be even better than what he is now. To me he is an underachiever. He is very athletic with loads of talent, but doesn't work hard enough. Does enough to get by. He is very young still at the age of 24, but should have snapped out of the "young" mentality by now in my opinion.

Any team would be stupid to take him.

He's a very nice player, but if paid a certain amount and playing in a certain role. He's not a maximum contract 'franchise' player. He can contribute to a team like Antoine Walker does...or did, with the Heat.

He's not a number one guy though.

Darius is an Idiot. He has no respect for the coach, team or the game. He has been in the league long enough that he should know how to act. He is like TO without the tallent. Blazers want to trade him before the summer is done but they want to get some value in return. I think they will keep Zach.

You are correct. We will deal Miles before the summer is out though...even if we don't get much value. Miles is a cancer.

I thought Zach was a problem for you as well. You're okay with hanging on to him?

So What’s the inside scoop on Zach Randolph...Seems he would still be a good guy to keep around...(If only to punch people out....)

Zach isn't a locker room cancer like D-Miles. He does a lot of stupid things, but he's actually a pretty good guy. My biggest concern with Zach is his knee. He hasn't been the same since his micro-fracture surgery. Enough time has passed now so we'll see if he regains some of his old form this season.

Ok, if he's not going to be a locker room cancer that will negatively impact the kids, that makes sense. It also makes rebuilding easier if you don't have to unload him.

I think there's a coach-gm in New York that would jump at the chance to pick up a player like that. It would make the contenders, I tell ya!
