we ain't gettin a center. Obviously Pop is gonna play small-ball from November-June. Causing Spur fans to by the end of the season end up with silver hair to match our ing uniforms.
You Spurs fans on board with Collins being your center? This may have been posted already but the Spurs are interested in him. I guess there's not much else left at this point. I'm not keeping up with that position as much as a lot of y'all are I'm sure.

He ain't great,he ain't my first choice, and on most teams he wouldn't be a starter. But i'd take him over Rasho anyday.
Maybe him on the bench will do
Only concern is he is not a shot blocker at all. I say pay him a $20 gift card to Henry's Puffy Tacos. If he doesn't bite on that deal then throw in a gift card for a free pair of glasses with the wierdo at MyEcono Optical so that he can see the basket and occasionally make a shot.
God I hope Utah resigns him.
We don't have silver uniforms. Home is white/road is black. The Saturday Silver crappy uniforms were an aberration...thank God they didn't bring them back. I'm just sayin'...![]()
The San Antonio Spurs have emerged as a potential suitor for Jazz free-agent center Jarron Collins.
The Jazz have said they want to re-sign Collins, who has spent his entire five-year NBA career in Utah.
The team, however, also has indicated it will not overpay for Collins, who made $1.7 million while averaging 5.3 points and 4.2 rebounds per game last season.
Collins, meanwhile, is testing the league's recently opened free-agency market — and apparently drawing some interest from San Antonio, where the local paper calls the Stanford product "the top NBA free-agent center left on the market."
According to a report posted Thursday on the San Antonio Express-News' Web site, Collins' agent, Bob Myers, called the Spurs "an attractive option."
Myers also said his client is assessing all options — one of which evidently includes re-signing with the Jazz.
The Spurs probably will not overpay for Collins, either.
But they are searching for a center to play alongside star Tim Duncan after Nazr Mohammed recently agreed to sign as a free agent with Detroit and Rasho Nesterovic was traded to Toronto.
Besides Mohammed, centers Ben Wallace (who agreed to leave Detroit for Chicago) and Joel Przybilla (who orally committed to re-sign with Portland) also are off the market.
a 7 footer that can't dunk? sign him up.
This is unbelievable........................
I don't know why people had the need to start 4 Collins threads today, but I merged them.
He's one of my least favorite options as a center. I don't know why some think he's the best center left.
I'd rather have Wright, Butler, Ely or just about anyone else.
If anyone doesn't think the Spurs are "scraping the bottom of the barrel" here, check Collins' production output for last year and for his career.

Don't expect these numbers to change.
Somehow the Spurs have managed to target a guy whose even a step below the Rasho/Nazr tandem. To say this guy doesn't block shots is a gross understatement.

You are right, we can't afford the dropoff.
go to 82games.com and you'll see that 0% of Collins' shots were dunks, Rasho's was at 4%.![]()
Jarron Collins is one of the worst players in the league.
And yet, averaged 1 point and 1 rebound less than Nazr on a lottery team.

1 in every 25 of Rasho's made shots were dunk.
I'm going to go ahead and call bull on that one![]()
It is pretty safe to say that is his absolute peak.
Nazr is a lot better than what he showed last season.
By mid season this guy would be third string and work about 5 min per game. A total waste.
Or sitting on the bench during the playoffs when he started all year.
Be afraid. Be very afraid.
Collins is a black Fabricio Oberto.
Jackie Butler and Melvin Ely are huge, huge steps up over Jarron Collins.
