'Drunk Hoff' not booted from tennis
Thu, 06 Jul 2006
Wimbeldon organisers the All England Club have denied kicking David Hasselhoff out of the prestigious tennis event on Monday because he was drunk.
The 'Baywatch' star "wasn’t ejected", a spokesperson said, adding that security guards "knew nothing" of the claims he was asked to leave, reported in such tabloids as The Sun.
According to the reports, guards ejected the actor from the London tennis club after he tried to muscle his way into a private players' bar while drunk.
But, claimed the All England Club spokesperson, the 53-year-old actor had merely tried to gain access to the press while looking for Court 13. He was refused entry because he wasn’t properly accredited.
The actor, who has had alcohol problems in the past, is currently filming an advert in the UK.
Last week he was treated for cuts after hitting his head on a chandelier following a gym workout at the Sanderson Hotel in London's West End.
A tendon in his right arm was severed after shards of glass entered his right arm.
On the Wimbeldon incident The Sun had reported that the actor had a row with guards outside Centre Court. They wouldn’t let the 'Knight Rider' star in because he reportedly didn’t have a valid ticket.
Hasselhoff was then banned from several press and players' bars as he looked for another drink, the tabloid had claimed.
"You should let me in. Do you know who I am? I’m The Hoff," the actor shouted at staff, the paper had reported.![]()

Haselhoff — currently appearing as a celebrity judge in 'Got Talent', the new reality talent show from Simon 'Idols' Cowell — finally made it to Centre Court to see Roger Federer.
The actor and friend Michael Brandon, "then downed beer after beer and was later seen staggering arm-in-arm with Brandon", The Sun had claimed.
"Security chiefs ordered Hoff out. One guard said: 'He was steaming drunk'," the report had added.
yawn.
