Tires go to Walmart -- good tires, inexpensive and fast.
Does anyone know a good place to get brake work done excluding Brake Check?
How about tires? I've been looking at Tirerack.com.

Thanks Kori. I will need brakes sooner though. I'm starting to really go through shoes everytime I have to stop at a red light.
Who are you? Fred Flinstone????

Why don't you just replace the shoes yourself? It is not that hard to do and the only "special" piece of equipment you need is a deep-throat "C" clamp to depress the plungers.

ouch...that sounds painful.![]()
Not if you relax and just accept it....
Is that a pick up line?the only "special" piece of equipment you need is a deep-throat "C" clamp to depress the plungers.
But really, I think I need more than just pads. It's a pretty new truck, but I also need new tires and maybe an alignment.
S y, both my feet are made of lead.
avoid brake check and midas unless you want to get ripped off
Damn. You made me spit.
A man's gotta know what's the right tool for the job ma'am.
I heard Pineapple helps prevent that.
Or big expensive jewelry
Sorry in advance!
SW, I didn't know you spit.![]()
I think you should take it to one of those places that sells tires and does brake jobs.
Would that be located at an address on a street?
Walmart?
Uhhh no...
Avoid Just Brakes like the plague. Those muther ers business model is based on ripping people off.
Uh ok. So I should just go through the phone book and cross out any names listed here? Are there any places that anyone has actually been to and liked?I would go back to Sparks but they don't do brakes.
If you want a true experience, go to Blue Ribbon Tire Co on West Ave. just north of 410. I think the building has been there since before the city expanded out of the 410 area. They won't have a big selection. The prices are ok, but not great. They will work fast and it's fun to chat with the owner. I go there all the time to get flat tires patched. I never had so many flat tires until I moved down here.
hey man...my buddy mahmoud runs an auto repair shop behind the diamond shamrock on hausman and bab . utsa blvd, take turnaound, first right, all the way down and just past the 1st light on the left....
Dobbdodge Auto Center
(210) 558-3535
mahmoud runs the place.
good ol' Joe is the mechanic.
Will a guy in an alley way say, "Pssst come here." Then open up his coat and have tires hanging from the lining?
brake work can be done. tires? well, there is a frickin discount tire off of the same access road.....costco has good deals too, and is right there as well.
And if you're lucky, he'll throw in a "Rolex" for good measure.
I would be unlucky if a guy in an alley opened his trench coat to me.![]()
