owww.. my sides are hurting from the laughing.![]()
You want to be a pastor/youth minister/missionary?
very noble of you... i would reckon st mary's would have something in that department.. but im not 100% sure
do you know if they offer anything besides catholic theo?
If you are Catholic and interested in becoming a priest, I would direct you to the Oblates of Mary Immaculate. Their HQ is located on Blanco Road inside of Loop 410.
thanks but im not catholic, im non-denominational/baptist
tell me more about this youth ministry thing. the missionary work usually involves poor south american children, no. it's never to late to start a new career, i guess.
A bit off topic, but I had to take my placement exams the other day...I think I did purdy bad on the math test. LOL. I had no idea what the functions were. The sad thing is that we did functions in Algebra. Out of the 32 questions, I may have answered 10 correctly.
so basically you want to major in theology?
its not overly useful to being a youth minister, but it probably is to being a minister, though usually you need to get a masters for that (I have a friend that went to school in Virginia I think for his masters to be just that; was a finance major as an undergrad)
For missionary work, I dont really know what usefulness theology is, unless you are going to spread the religion, then I guess it would be useful, but so would anthropology.
My suggestion would be to speak with your guidance consuelor (sp)
I love how everyone can turn a legit thread into something full of ineundos.
wtf is that supposed to mean?
It was fixed Das Texan. You posted right as I was finishing typing. my bad.
you're right. perhaps we should talk about your enjoyment of golden showers instead.
well im thinking about a major in theo and minor in youth ministries, but im having a hard time finding colleges that offer any of these. i prefer a bible college but anything that offers these courses is welcome
almost any private college/university based in some type of religion will offer theology.
as far as young ministries, i have never heard of any college offering that for a concentration of study, though i also will admit i never actually looked for that.
And there are plenty of bible colleges out there, you just will probably have to leave san antonio to goto said bible college, i cant think of any that are here.
oh ok.
its all good.

thanks...this might be an option!
Good.![]()
I didn't want Das Texan to be mad at me!
What the does "Non-Denominational/Baptist" mean? Which one is it? You are either one or the other -- the two are mutually exclusive. You might want to figure that one out before you plan on getting a religious degree.![]()

You might also consider Houston Baptist University, since that is your denominational preference.
Additionally, few people with an undergraduate degree work in the ministry field full time. Generally, they will do an undergraduate degree in a related field/s like religious studies, psychology, sociology, history, etc and then pursue a masters in theology. And even then, it can be a very difficult field to find full time work in, unless you choose to be a missionary.
Abilene Christian has a good youth ministry program.
