Dana White the President and Co-Owner of UFC announced today on ESPNEWS that on September 23 Matt Hughes will fight Georges St. Pierre in Anaheim in a Welterweight championship bout.
They also interviewed Hughes and St Pierre on ESPNEWS after the announcement. They sat next to each other while the ESPN anchor interviewed them. It was pretty bland. They were both very respectful of each other and there was no trash talking. Both just said they were better since then, St. Pierre said he was little star struck in their first fight, and both said they were ready to roll.
And almost as exciting (although not nearly at the same skill level): Forrest Griffin and Stephen Bonner II will take place in August at UFC 62, on the Liddel/Babalu card.

Matt Hughes is one of the few UFC fighters that I can honestly say is a world class fighter.
lol this world class fighter almost didn;t make it past the up and coming st.pierre but not its his time to shine.
This will be a fight for the ages.
lets hope so..two great fighters..time for a new champ anyways although hughes is the greatest welterweight of all time i don't think he'll be able to get past st.pierre but anything can happen..look what arlovski did against silvia
LMAO...I love how ESPN acted like they were breaking some news that has been know for a couple months now...
It's cool to see MMA getting some exposure on ESPN, but I really don't want ESPN involved...they'll F it up!!
