"The Knicks have been granted an extra day to decide whether to match third-string center Jackie Butler's three-year, $7 million offer sheet from the Spurs, but indications are stronger than ever they don't plan to do so. Because of a clerical error on Butler's offer sheet, the Knicks have until Thursday, instead of tomorrow, to make their decision." New York Post
"Nobody from the Knicks has even contacted Butler or his agent, Keith Glass, since the offer sheet was presented last Wednesday. Butler elected to skip summer league, so the Knicks have no idea what kind of shape he's even in." New York Post
Interesting though...looks like New York is seriously doubting to match the offer sheet.
That's old news but for some reason the New York media is just figuring it out.
I know, that would just be the Spurs luck. Everyone finds a way to screw us over.
With all the people it goes through a clerical error was still made?
but indications are stronger than ever they don't plan to do so.
Any bets on what FO personnel will be fired over that?
youd think.
Im excited to think how this guy, a tough brusing rebounder, would do next to Duncan.
Yay![]()
I'm excited to see what a clean catch looks like when Parker or Ginobili penetrate and drop a pass off to a center.
Why so much excitement for the 3rd string center from the Knicks? If he's so good, then why couldn't he get burn on a team that sucked it up nightly last year?
Maybe because that third string center was starting ahead of Curry, James and Frye by the end of the season and has more offensive skills than Diop, Mbenga or Dampier can ever dream of having. Enough post offense to make it very, very tough for Dirk to match up against on D.
They had a lottery pick (Frye), a $60 million free agent (Curry), and a max midlevel signing (James) that were all brought in at his position last year. Butler moved ahead of James in the rotation, and outplayed Curry, though Curry got more minutes. Frye was a rookie of the year candidate.
Why so much excitement for the 3rd string center from the Cavs? If he's so good, then why couldn't he get burn on a team that sucked it up one season ago?
Knicks get an extra day my ass. Clerical error? I betttt.
Ouch. That's what it's like to Own yourself with or without knowing it.![]()

Butler towards the end of the season was getting more play than both their "superstar salary" centers.
Moving ahead of James in the rotation means nothing. He flat out sucks.
It means something when James is getting paid BIG money.
And James does SUCK
L Brown gave Pop pointers, plain and simple.
when your an unknown rookie, playing under Larry Brown?Moving ahead of James in the rotation means nothing
yeah it does.
damn you suck at fantasy league bluhh
And was the reason he was getting more play more that he was truly a diamond in the rough or that they were just playing the scrubs to evaluate what they might have for next season?
Interesting point. Do either of these guys have hands?
1. Because a GM by the name Isiah Thomas acquired so many players that the coaching staff were so confused that they didn't know how to utilize the roster.
2. Because this team has the biggest number of ballhogs : Stephon Marbury, Steve Francis, Jalen Rose & Nate Robinson. Although Kobe Bryant is still The UNDISPUTED, UNDEFEATED BALLHOG of all time.
3. Because Larry Brown was way over his head to have said that coaching the Knicks was his dream job.
