The Spurs have been searching for a center since Nesterovic was traded to Toronto and Mohammed signed with Detroit. Joel Przybilla re-signed with Portland, and Alonzo Mourning turned down an offer from the Spurs to return to Miami.
Negotiations with Lithuanian Robertas Javtokas, one of the team's former draft picks, broke down last week. Sean Marks, who spent three seasons with the Spurs, has been in contract discussions with Phoenix.

The Church's congregation is in mourning today.
Good luck in Phoenix, Sean! Lots of nice people out there, you'll do fine.
Wow, that's surprising. Good luck Kiwi!
Marks signed to ride the pine in PHX. He won't see much playing time there. Heck, I'll draw a six figure check to be a cheerleader too. Where do I sign up?

Although you never played much, we all will still miss you. Good Luck to Sean Marks!
really? , now playing alongside Nash, the Kiwi will have crazy numbers and has a chance at his first allstar game!!!!
Marks: Would you like a fresh towel Mr. Nash.
Nash: Thanks towel boy, man, uhh dude.
Nash to Marion: Wow, that new towel boy is pretty old and tall.
Marion: Yeah, I though he was the towel boy for the Spurs last year. He must be good if we went out and signed him.

I'm glad for this signing. I was worried that Phoenix was falling short of the NBA's mandated number of white boys sitting on the bench.
