old ass ma a
Still no word from him nor from the Spurs introducing him to San Antonio. Perhaps he was told not to get too comfy for the next two months (?).
Note:
The Spurs.com player link is to the "other" Eric Williams, however I found this correct link and playerfile for your perusal.

Cat can still get up Yadadamean?
nah mah ninja dat was luck
he can still play defense. I watched the Kobe 81 point game vs toronto, and Eric Williams forced a couple of offensive fouls by moving his feet quickly to get into position. We will just have to wait and see what the FO has in store for Williams,
I wouldnt mind doing a sign and trade with Charlotte for Jumaine Jones(someone else also suggested this in another thread), he is a good defensive/rebounding SF who can shoot the 3
He had decent stats in New Jersey. Maybe he can do something besides keeping the bench warm.
That ACL tear in 97-98 destoyed most of his potential.
Averaged 10 and 3 as a rookie. 15 and 5 second year.
Started strong in 97-98 averaging 20 and 5 during the 4 games he played,
but since then his best season average for points has been 10 and 4.
Dude, you're white.
Eric Williams carries a salary with him of $4.3M. That is ripe for coupling with another player for trade purposes.
4.3 plus barry's contract is close to murphy's
There has to be somebody on the NY roster we can pry away for Erik Williams contract.
I'm sure they can use the cap relief.
knicks and cap relief?
their is no cap relief in sight unless they start buying out players
what player on the knicks would you want
rose makes to much like most of their players
they are not going to give you frye or nate robinson for cap relief
Um...
If having a guy in his last year, can't be used as bait to get a player from another team with a guy they want to unload...what exactly is the value of getting a guy like Erik Williams?
Just used the Knicks as an example.
I'd have to look at there roster and the salary's to find one...but the Knicks have some talent.
eric williams has trade value
you would have to get a third team involved though
knicks do not have a 4.3 guy that the spurs want
Born in 1972?
Damn that guy is DINOSUAR!!
Bowen and Barry are born in 71 and Horry in 70.
I guess that makes them precambrian.
I wonder why they haven't moved this guy yet!
They can't package him with another player until August 21st.
And they still had to find a deal that they like.
The guy has something to prove in a contract year.
You want to trade that?
He will be 35 next summer.
When you're that old and no that good, you have no chance to get a big contract : the contract year effect isn't a big factor.
Eric Williams needs to have more than one good year to get paid. I kinda doubt he'll remain a Spur, maybe the Spurs will simply release him?
YES. He's not going to prove ANYTHING being buried as #5 in the swing rotation behind BB, Manu, Barry, and Finley.
I still think ATL can be plucked. They have TONS of guys that fit the same bill: swingman between 6-7 and 6-9, weight between 210 and 230:
Marvin Williams 6'9" 230
Josh Smith 6'9" 225
Josh Childress 6'8" 210
Joe Johnson 6'7" 230
