Now, if the USA team s up like they did in the 04 Olympics, I think it's free game to root against them. But Colangelo and Coach K probably know what they're doing, plus Bruce Bowen will be there. I'd love to see Bruce put the brakes on Manu in the Championship game, that'd be sweet.

I did not agree with him. I agree with Melmart. I think you should root for the country where you are from, not currently residing. Someone like Alvarez, who was born in Argentina, but has living in the USA 95% of his life, has the right to choose.

I agree with you. France is filled with black players, but they all speak French. Argentina has Ginobili who was even called Italian at some point in his career...But they all speak Spanish. Slovenia has players who speak Slovenian and Serbo-Croatian and English, but obviously only USA is about multiculturalism. No other country is that advance - melting-pot-wise - as the old USA.

USA is so national/aknowledged that African-Americans judge Latino-Americans while Native Americans steal casino-wise from other Americans, but there was an effort for more than 8 years just to put together an ALL-Stars-American team for a major national tournament. Yes, it is racist not to cheer for a team with such character. (BTW, I really hope USA will be better this year).
