The convoy was leaving with Israeli permission. The Israeli military says it is investigating the incident.

Where's Shack-o's and Manumania's outrage when Hezbollah rockets, aimed exclusivley at Israeli civilian populations and filled with anti-personnel shrapnel, kill Israeli civilians?
Where's the outrage when the phony Repug Iraq war kills 10s of 1000s of Iraqi civilians? Do you really believe the Army's press releases that their "shock and awe" fireworks display was victimless, precisely aimed with no errors, that no Iraqi civilians killed in the middle of Bagdad?
What about when the US military blew up a wedding party of 50 people in Afghanistan?

All wars have civilian casualties, but Israeli wars aren't allowed to have civilian casualties?
I heard an Israeli tell about an incident where they had a tip that the entire Hamas leadership was meeting in a multi-story building in Gaza. A 500-lb bomb would have destroyed the building but also killed lots of surrouding civilians. They hit with a 100 lb bomb that didn't penetrate the building all the way down and the Hamas guys escaped.
He asked: "If the Americans had a sure tip that bin Laden and his top lieutenants were meeting in similar cir stances, would the Americans use the 500 lb bomb or the 100 lb bomb?"
a democrat dropped to atomic bombs on japan... I wonder how many civilians were killed in that little exercise... ?

The War’s Deathbed

Facing south from our balcony on the American University of Beirut Campus, the incessant explosions reminded me of a Fourth of July fireworks finale on steroids. I almost expected to see a glittering Star-Spangled Banner on the southern horizon. Of course, this was an experience brought to us by US-made ordnance. As the bombs strike the residential neighborhoods of southern Beirut again and again, it is strange that no UN resolution demands that the supplier of these weapons cease to deliver them to Israel. On Saturday, thousands of leaflets fell from the sky, littering West Beirut; they depicted Nasrallah poking his head out of a cedar tree and urged us to get “the destroyer of Lebanon” off of our backs.
When, a day later, Beirut experienced the most intense bombing of the war, did the Israeli psych-ops people expect us not to notice that the same country dropped the leaflets and the bombs? For all but the most subtle, that country seemed the obvious candidate for “destroyer of Lebanon.
