Since I know the Club is more popular, I wrote this here.

Has anyone else been getting a strange download while viewing forums other than the Club?

This keeps popping up in my status bar when posting and it never goes away.

This is bumming me out because it never stops downloading...and will come back every time I post, read, switch forums, etc.

SW, you said you do get it, but it deosnt slow you down. That helps. I had never seen wwwclearchannel.com hosting anything here before, but if you have noticed it, I guess it isnt some spam on my PC (you never now these days).

Okay, I see it now. It's moving too fast for me to tell if it's wvw or www but it's definitely something from Clear Channel.

Clear Channel owns WOAI, which is linked to these forums and employs it's owner's services ... that might have something to do with it?

Or maybe someone posted something in the forum that's linked to a site hosted by Clear Channel?

That definately could be the case. Im not an internet guru, but does wvw strike anyone as an odd way to host files? Or is this sort of prefix-changing common for hosting purposes?

doesn't happen for me, but i think the site is hosted on clearchannel space. not sure though, i have seen images loaded from that site before though, but it usually only takes a second or two.

EDIT: WOAI is a clear channel station, so i imagine mr. and mrs. ellis are paying to have the site hosted by clear channel.

The only time it should slow you down is if clearchannel's site is down or something.
SW is right, it has to do with me working for WOAI and WOAI.com linking to this board.

WOAI doesn't have anything to do with hosting this site. They just link to it. That .gif is part of a tracking thing to show how many hits they get from us and how many we get from them, etc.
