howard of course, WAKE FOREST FTW, then go out sign CP3 or trade tp for him.
Howard
Diaw
Assuming nither Diaw or Josh Howard signed this year but tested the market next year as a restricted free agent, who would you go after given equal deals?
howard of course, WAKE FOREST FTW, then go out sign CP3 or trade tp for him.
, I think I accidentally voted for Diaw. I would say Howard. I question Diaw's defensive skills, and Bobo's stats are from an insanely up tempo game, so I wouldn't expect him to produce like that here without a dominant distributor like Nash. Plus, Mark Cuban.
same here ...ive watched the frace vs argentina game the other day and to be honest with u, diaw makes a good play once in a while but outside that i wasnt impressed...ill take howard
Before opening the thread, I thought it was between Boris Diaw and DWIGHT Howard.

yea and i voted howard thinking that it's dwight
2006 Playoffs
Diaw - 18.7 PPG; 5.2 Assists; 6.7 Rebounds; 1.1 Blocks; 53% FG%
Howard - 16.7 PPG; 1.4 Assists; 7.4 Rebounds; .6 Blocks; 45% FG%
i voted wrong too. I thought it was Dwight. Of course I'd sign Diaw
any dip can have one good year in the NBA...let's see diaw keep it going...if he's the real deal, then yeah diaw over howard...for now i'll take howard tho.
a decent rookie year and two solid years after that. each year he's made significant improvement.
diaw's sucked ass for two seasons and had one decent year. the NBA's littered with guys who had one good year.
i'd say in three years howard's shown alot more than diaw thus far.
I thought it was Diaw and Moe Howard.
Howard has a more rounded game. His defense is much better, and he's a better rebounder even though he plays the 3 position and Diaw played PF for much of last season. Plus Diaw's stats are boosted from an up-tempo style of play and having Steve Nash to distribute the ball. With that being said, they are both good players that will only improve and if I was a coach i wouldn't mind having either on my team.
Howard more rounded:? How many triple doubles did Howard have last year?
I take that back. I forgot how great of a passer Diaw was for a big man. Although howards 3pt shooting was 43% as opposed to Diaws 27%All in all i think they are about as equal as you can get.
I like when people judge players only by looking at their stats. The fact that you have forgot that Diaw was a great passer is a proof that you don't know him very well. And BTW, Howard's defense isn't way better than Diaw's defense : they are both good but not great defenders.
Nocioni ate Diaw in Argentina France.-
GUs
I wasn't judging them only by their stats. I base most of what I said about Diaw off of what I saw in the Western Conference Finals. Other than the playoffs, I haven't seen very much of Diaw. But i did see enough to know that his defense isn't that great.
I will take Diaw. Dont want a Chris Webber wannabe calling timeouts at the wrong time![]()
poll this time next year will be Diaw vs Diawara![]()
owwwww-wwwwww!![]()
Diaw has mainly defended on Diop during the WCF, that's difficult to judge Diaw's defense after that.
You find that Diaw's defense isn't that great but you can't say that Howard is a great defender. His team defense is quite good but his man 2 man defense is average. If Mavs have signed some defensive specialist (Christie, Griffin and Buckner), there is a reason. To me, Howard's defense isn't better than Diaw's one.
I would take Diaw. and I agree with Bruno, more talent and upside.
I went in and thought it was DWIGHT Howard (duh ofcourse Dwight over Boris). I'm gonna pick Diaw.
Someone mentioned Diaw's 3-pt shooting %. Yeah, it was low because he came to Phoenix with awful mechanics and early in the season, he wouldn't shoot in games. He fixed his mechanics over the course of the season, that's why you saw him knocking down those J's from the top of the key in the playoffs. His range is expected to stretch out to the 3 point line this year. I wouldn't be surprised if he becomes a better 3 pt shooter than Howard a few years down the road.
