texas its all about california
if there was one college per state, california would dominate
who do yall think? I think Texas has got to be the best in the nation...
texas its all about california
if there was one college per state, california would dominate
and to add, the players had to be from that state, california would slap everybody else
Im a huge Michigan Wolverine fan, but they have just not been cutting it the past few years. Ive got to go with Texas, they are my secondary team. Their programs in both sports are very strong right now.

we are talking about individual colleges...not states.texas its all about california
I would say Texas. Although Florida could be argued as well.
What if Ohio State wins both les in the coming year? Wouldn't that pretty clearly make them the best, for now anyway?
Yes it would. If Greg Oden gets healthy....that is a real possibility.
Florida and Texas would own California if it was 1 school with all players from a certain state.
A tie between Texas and Florida right now. UT has the FB NC and an elite 8 basketball team, florida has BB NC and a top 10 football team
and to add, texas has a good baseball program too, not many schools can dominate all three at once like that
Buckeyes should've been added in place of Kansas using the criteria of the thread's le .
Historically, the best combinations of basketball and football on the collegiate level would seem to me to be schools like UCLA, Syracuse, Notre Dame, and Texas.
In fact, by my count, there are only 5 schools that are in the Top 30 in all-time winning percentage in both sports:
Notre Dame is 2nd in football winning percentage (Michigan is #1) at .743 (811 wins) and 17th in basketball winning percentage at .643 (1581 wins)
Texas is 3rd in football winning percentage at .712 (800 wins) and 29th in basketball winning percentage at .622 (1507 wins)
Alabama is 4th in football winning percentage at .712 (774 wins) and 27th in basketball winning percentage at .625 (1427 wins)
UCLA is 29th in football winning percentage at .594 (514 wins) and 6th in basketball winning percentage at .691 (1581 wins)
Syracuse is 30th in football winning percentage at .594 (666 wins) and 7th in basketball winning percentage at .685 (1680 wins).
Other schools are close to that in terms of winning percentages in both sports:
North Carolina (1st in BB, 45th in FB)
Utah (10th in BB, 41st in FB)
Arizona (13th in BB, 43rd in FB)
Oklahoma (6th in FB, 36th in BB)
Tennessee (9th in FB, 43rd in BB)
Washington (17th in FB, 49th in BB)
West Virginia (34th in FB, 37th in BB)

sorry, thats why i added "other" in case i missed a school
No prob, I just honestly couldn't remember when KAN had a very good football team.
No question about basketball though, none.
I could live with that.A tie between Texas and Florida right now. UT has the FB NC and an elite 8 basketball team, florida has BB NC and a top 10 football team
yeah thats true, i was trying to include the recent past rather than the present. not too long ago kansas was a top team in the nation like in the early 2000's. gave texas a run for their money couple years ago, but thanks to VY UT avoided disaster.
u trippin dude, california would kill texas.
Don't be such a homer.
It is you who be trippin, my wigga friend.u trippin dude, california would kill texas.
And track & field, and swimming, and ...
Ohio State... easy. Greg Oden on the basketball team and the #1 ranking in football.
UT took the big 12 conference championship in all but one of the Men's sports. They took second place in that one. Even the women took first in 6 out of the (11 or 12) sports they compete in and didnt place lower than fifth. They have an all around program.
I could see your point if we were only talking about basketball. I think we would give you a run for your money if you took the basketball all stars from each state, but I would think Cali would win. . . Now as far as football goes that is just a laughable idea. I mean c'mon are you serious? Texas might as well be renamed Football. Our talent is constantly poached by every other school in the country. Let it rest. Texas owns Football.
