I'm trying to burn an ISO image onto a DVD. I've tried Alcohol 120% and DVD Decrypter, but they keep on giving me the same message:

Write Error, Bad Media, Please Replace the Media.

Now, I know it isn't the media, because I just opened two brand new packaged DVD+R's and tried them, gave me the same message. Then I tried two DVD-R's and once went up to 5% and then gave me the same error message. Can somebody please help me!!?!?!?

    Thanks in advance.

Well if you're having probs with both DVD-R and DVD+R, I'd try these steps:

    1. Burn @ a lower speed if you haven't already.
    2. Can you burn other types of DVDs/CDs? (Audio CD, Data DVD...) If you can, maybe the ISO file is corrupted
    3. Find the model number of the DVD burner and download firmware from their site.

i usually burn isos like this - get daemon tools from www.daemon-tools.cc, then install it. right click on the icon in the taskbar, and go to the virtual cd/dvd-rom part, mount the image on device 0 - you can choose iso files from the explorer window after you click "mount image". that way you can load the iso and see if the file plays in the first place. after that you can use nero to do a copy on the fly from the virtual drive to your dvd burner.

you still wanna see if the iso is corrupt or not. if it's a movie, load it in daemon tools and see if you can play it. daemon tools creates virtual cd/dvd drives where isos/imgs can be loaded and looked in. you can play it from daemon tools with windows media player or whatever if it's a movie.

a disk image in the ISO file system, more specifically an optical disk image. some use a bin/cue format where you can load the cue sheet to access the bin. basically, it keeps all the files from a ripped disk in one place. very common for file sharing dvd rips.

I downloaded Daemon Tools, I've used a similar program to install a downloaded video game. But, yeah the ISO image file when mounted plays like a regular perfect DVD.

Alcohol has a virtual disk feature too. File this one under uncompatible media/ DVD writer.
