GOD, he's on my fantasy team.
Ouch!
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Indiana Pacers centre Jeff Foster will have hip surgery Wednesday and is expected to miss four to six weeks, further depleting the NBA team's front court.
Foster is scheduled to undergo arthroscopic surgery on his right hip. He has been hampered by the injury since before training camp, but didn't believe it to be serious until it flared up this week.
His emergence as a legitimate hustler and rebounder played a big role in the Pacers' success last season. He averaged 6.1 points and 7.4 rebounds in his first season as a starter.
Scot Pollard, who has looked sharp in the pre-season, will fill Foster's spot in the starting lineup.
Foster's injury is the latest to hit the front court. Forward-centre Jermaine O'Neal could be held out of the remaining pre-season games with a nagging ligament strain in his left foot, and rookie David Harrison has missed time with a shoulder injury.
I know Bender is not a center, but this bumps his value up in my book.
Pollard has played well this season, so he'll fill in nicely for Jeff until he gets back. Another problem just surfaced. Back up PG Anthony Johnson broke a bone in his hand tonight...they'll know more about that injury tomorrow.
Give me a ing break...Pollard is nothing.
Darn! He is my favorite former white Madison High School standout in the NBA.
Foster was there at tonights game against the Grizzlies, they mentioned about his surgery later today. I think if Pollard plays like he did tonight, the Pacers will be fine. Hopefully, Harrison will pick up some of the slack too in Fosters' absence.
I'm more concerned about Anthony Johnson's status. It turns out it was his right hand that has the broken bone in it. The same one he injured in pre-season last year.
How about Artest tonight? 35 points! I don't see what's his name...uh, Bowen that's it, putting up numbers like that. The Defensive Player Of The Year (abbrievations suck) is becoming more and more of a scoring threat now...just adding more to his ever growing resume. Go Pacers!
35 points against guys who will be riding the bench or bagging groceries next week. I'd be impressed if it was done in the regular season, when it matters.
Foster Is From San Antonio Right?
yup....Madison High School and SW Texas State. Sucks about his injury.
