Holy , I must have put this in the wrong goddamn forum. I guess people in the college football forum don't care to discuss...well, college ing football.![]()
Obviously not the next Vince Young, but certainly not as bad as last saturdays game would indicate. With experience, how solid do you think he will become? I think with proper coaching and development he could be pretty damn solid. It was fairly obvious that his inexperience played a huge role in the last games outcome, and we will need to see if he has a tough enough mentality to come back and kick some ass for the rest of the season.

Damn, chill out...
There are football games on this evening.
Anyway, from what I saw of the game, it seemed to me that the game wasn't so much on Colt's shoulders as it was the receivers for Texas.
I think Colt's got the talent to be right up there with the great QBs in UT history, especially if he gets to start all four years.
mccoy did not look impressive to me, but i did not expect him to be as he was facing the #1 team. i have no idea how good he will be, but nothing i saw seperated him from other redshirt freshman i have seen play this year. t.u. needed to stick with running the ball more and actually covering OSU's WRs...that did not happen and t.u. got spanked.
i am very curious to see how he progresses this year, however, and what the coaching staff does as there is no vy to bail them out of EVERY situation.
I thought Colt held up pretty well. I did think there were some plays where he could have taken off with the ball and had some nice gains, tOSU was playing a bunch of zone coverage and there were some nice sized holes available for running. I do think Colt is a smart player and he'll learn a lot from this game, helping him to be ready for big games against ou, Nebraska, Tech, etc. It was only his second college game and I expect to see him make consistent progress week to week.
...i love how all the t.u. fans are overlooking A&M as a big game (or at least the majority).
it's the last game of the season (and the most important one for me), i don't see how it can be overlooked if people are more concerned right now with games that come before it?
^ It isn't a big game at this point, not when you've won the last 6 in a row. Get back to me after a&m has won a couple games in the next 5-10 years.
still a little high on beating USC.
Ohio state was dropping their corners back and using linebackers to fill the holes, and colt still got passes to his receivers that were bumbed stumbled and dropped. Besides his incredibly stupid interception he did not make any 'rookie' mistakes, or any real mistakes for that matter. He handled the option well against the so called no. 1 team with a so called good defense. Johnny was right, the receivers blew it. But I also felt the coaches not calling quick routes and not telling colt to sprint through that entire open midfield was stupid. Colt looked good for this stage in his development to me. I'm not writing him off just yet, but he did not earn his stripes yet either.
But there is no doubt in my mind if Greg Davis wasn't Greg Davis last saturday night that people everywhere would be hailing Colt as the Real Deal.
ps
I love how that impaled homer JGW has defend the aggies even when they're not under attack. Never stop fightin 'till the end I guess.
no, i am just asking. A&M is not listed on most t.u. fans big games....i think its funny.
well i think its funny that you are so stupid as to think us horns fans don't look forward to playing (and impaling) you every year
I agree with most of your post, but this part in particular.
I think Colt look decent for his second start. This loss was not solely on him. Bad play calling, dropped passes and a better opponent.
They had 3 corners out there at times, meaning they had 2 ing linebackers...how those two assholes were able to totally outwit and stump greg "gza" davis is beyond me. Colt will learn how to use his speed (and this kid DOES have speed) within the offense as time goes on, but more importantly, i hope the coaches learn how to utilize his speed within the offense. He's not vince, duh, but he has speed, and when those corners are dropped back he could easily pick up a first down.
We had no trouble moving the ball against ohio state, their passing game and their punter owned the battle for field position all game. Colt was one of the least of my worries out of that loss.
What pisses me off is all the news reports of Snead needing more time, and him having a better arm. HTF do people know this? Stirring the pot, I tell ya. Colt is our man this year.
greg "gza" davis
Yeah...the Greg Davis of old was rearing his ugly head.
What ever happened to that blue chip prospect that originally committed to UT but then went to LSU? Does he still play for LSU?
brown had to be suspended.![]()
Yes...he is backing up JaMarcus Russell. What ever happened to that blue chip prospect that originally committed to UT but then went to LSU? Does he still play for LSU?
IMO, Mack made the right call.brown had to be suspended.
^ Perrilloux (sp?) was the kids name, dumbass was talking in high school how he would come in and immeidately start over Vince, what a ing joke. Last I read he's running 3rd team at LSU, hope he enjoys himself there.
My bad...I thought he was 2nd team. Still...its not where he said he would be.![]()
You'll have to excuse all the bandwagon sip fans, they're all looking for a new team to follow.Holy , I must have put this in the wrong goddamn forum. I guess people in the college football forum don't care to discuss...well, college ing football.
Very true...although for those of us who have been and are still loyal...there is more room now!![]()
