Ron Mercer should still not be a Spur. Sure he had a good preseason game and he will probably have a couple more. He should not be a Spur he was simply not in the right system. He still can't play a lick of defense. He will probably average double figures in points with the Nets because there will be several shots that he will be able to take. Good for Mercer but he should of never been a Spur.

I was watching this game, don't ask me why. Mercer actually played very well, not just scored but pass, hussled, dove, played intense D. Looks like he's playing to get himself a new contract.

Make no mistake about it, Mercer is a very capable scorer. If he gets an opportunity to shoot the ball a lot, he'll put up big numbers. He has one of the sweetest mid-range jumpers in the game.

If only he could turn that talent into something positive. He's still a bonehead me-first kind of player. I'm very glad he's gone, but it's a shame to see a player waste his talent like that.
