Exclusive information obtained by Asia Times Online shows that the al-Qaeda leader recently traveled from the South Waziristan tribal area in Pakistan to somewhere in the eastern Afghan provinces of Kunar and Nooristan, or possibly Bajour, a small tribal agency in the Federally Administered Tribal Area of Pakistan in North-West Frontier Province.

Well, people were saying the same about Demo's just 5 years ago, so I'll take that with a grain of salt.

Also, there's a safe haven in the trible regions now that the Pakistanis have, for all intensive purposes, abandoned the war on terra. Osama and other Al-Queda leaders, , even Omar Muhamed, the one-eyed former Taliban leader, can walk around free of fear of attack or arrest as long as they 'stay out of trouble'.

Bin Laden is the best thing Bush has. He needs the guy so much that might explain this story:

On another anti-terror matter, with Osama bin Laden still at large five years after the 9/11 attacks, Bush said he could not send thousands of troops into Pakistan to search without an invitation from the government. "Pakistan's a sovereign nation," Bush said.
