28-24 MSU
...at the beginning of the year i predicted notre dame would be 2-2 after the first 4 games. i am going to stick with that prediction, though the games i thought they would lose were georgia tech and michigan state. nonetheless, 2-2 is 2-2 and they WILL lose to michigan state this weekend. State owns them, is playing well, and its @ State.
michigan state 37
notre dame 34
thoughts?
This week as been so sweet. I say 0 for Michigan for the Irish
34-28 MSU
Not to mention the Big Ten always plays ND tough. Quinn threw three INT's against a weak Wolverine Secondary last week at home. The pressure is on Brady, and I dont think he is the real deal.
This one has the side stories too. ND is pissed because MSU planted their flag at the 50 yd line last year, and MSU is pissed because Charlie Patriot stated that ND will NEVER again lose to MSU as long as he is there. Sounds like a good old fashioned rivalry game now, and I'm definitely DVRing it to watch after I get home Saturday night. I just wish it was during the day...
ND comes back to win after being embarrassed last wk.
Now if ND were playing Mich instead of the Spartans.....
Either a squeak out win by MS, or a total blowout for ND.
they actually planted it at the 35, they did not make it to the 50. Notre Dame makes a great come back and wins. Brady quinn plays very well throwing into a 30 mph wind during the 3rd and 4th quarter. Before you ask, yes the wind shifted during the break between the 3rd and 4th quarter and yes notre dame was throwing into the wind both quarters.
5 td passes, and the defense stepped up huge in the fourth, 2 pics and one touchdown.
Beer Is god was pretty damn close on the score though.
kskonn,
It wasn't so much NOtre Dame stepping up on defense as it was MSU's coach coaching not to lose.
When it became evident MSU was going to run the ball, ND put 8-9 guys in the box. They manned up on the WRS and then put everyone else in the box. And MSU kept running into it and getting stuffed.
Their coach was a moron. If they had called the game the same way the second half as the first, they would have won going away.
I agree, michigan state coached to not lose, that is why they are michigan state. However Notre Dame still had to make a one handed interception and take it back to the house for the go ahead score, and make a pic to seal the deal on Michigan states last drive of the game.
Personally I feel that Michigan states coaches put their team in a position where one big play could get Notre Dame back in the game, however Notre Dame still had to come up with two big plays in the fourth. The strip for the fumble and the pic returned for the td.
Nice analysis...
