Back in August, I was told by a waitress at Malik's by Silverado Movie theater that Malik's at the Quarry is closed.
She told me Malik is opening a new restaurant by 281 and 1604 although she didn't say when.

I really wish Malik would bring back the Caesar chicken wrap and his shrimp alfredo pasta dish. Those were both fantastic.

^ Have to second that earlier opinion on Texadelphia, that place has some amazing food, I remember going to the original one on the drag near UT. I couldn't stay away from it for more than a week, must be like what a heroin addiction is like, just less costly.

thats funny. when i worked at champs sports, his brother came in once about every couple months, and one time he bought like 5 pairs of air force ones and a huge pile of jordan apparel. thats probably why the menu is so expensive, lol!

I live like three blocks from Texadelphia here. It's not as good, at least for what I get.

are you saying texadelphia isnt good, or that there is something better near you. Your statement is vague. The Original (I think thats what its called its the first one on the menu) is excellent, good price, good meat, jalapenos, and crack filled mus .

Gee, what's the subject restaurant? For what I usually order, I prefer Malik's over Texadelphia. I do like the chicken cheesesteak at Delaware when I can find one that's sanitary.

Yeah well when I was at the register the cashier was like do you want fries and a drink with that? There I was thinking damn I just payed like 8 something plus tax. I thought Fries and a drink were coming my way already. But Malik is good people so I was like it, everybody's got to make a dollar. Don't get me wrong the food was good though, it would have sucked if it wasn't.

The food was good, but the last two times I went to the one on 1604 and Bandera, the menu was much smaller, as has already been said. And of course, the food is a bit expensive as well.

In my opinion, you can't keep a restaurant alive when your only main selling points are the atmosphere and the owner. After a while, people stop caring what you did when you were here, and that's when the customers make the decision based on quality and value of food.

For some reason, I don't see Malik's being around much longer.

Texadelphia has some pretty good burgers too and I like their curly fries. Speaking of Malik's, what all did they yank off the menu? His burgers looked pretty decent and his curly fries weren't bad either. Do they still have things like the pizza and the italian ice section?

Texadelphia? Wow, I didn't realize that SA had so many places where you could get Philadelphia-style food. What kind of food do they have there? Cheesesteaks, Pretzels, etc?

I don't think we have any Texas-inspired restaurants here. Unless you count Longhorn's or Famous Daves which specializes in barbeque'd ribs, etc. (Although, not sure if that is considered Texas-inspired).

There's a place in the Lakeline Mall food court that makes better cheesesteaks than Texadelphia IMO, but there's no accounting for taste.
