Student shoots principal at Wis. school 16 minutes ago

CAZENOVIA, Wis. - A student walked into a rural school with a gun and shot the principal several times, authorities said. A suspect was taken into custody and all the children were reported safe.

Principal John Klang's condition was not immediately known, Sauk County sheriff's Capt. Michael Haifemann said.

The student walked into the school at about 8 a.m. and shots were fired as people tried to get him under control, Melissa Nigh, dean of students at Weston School, said in an interview broadcast on MSNBC.

The K-12 school was locked down Friday morning, officials said.

"All the children in the school were safe and none were harmed," Haifemann said.

Cazenovia is a community of about 300 people about 60 miles northwest of Madison.http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060929/...chool_shooting

My names is Charleton Heston of the NRA and I want to say Klang's mistake was that he was not packing heat.

All school staff should be packing heat, and NRA-approved gun dealers are ready to oblige.

Well not rural Wisconsin at least. That would justify any shooting.

i dont know why people don't get pissed off at knife makers when somebody gets stabbed to death. i've been around firearms since i was a young kid so i reckon my viewpoint is different than some on this matter.

"knife makers when somebody gets stabbed to death"

knives are not meant exclusively to kill. guns are made primarily for killing.

Killing somebody with a knife is a lot more commendable, admirable since you have to get right up close to them, smell them, get yourself bled upon, and the put your self at serious risk, so to knife somone to death takes some real skill and bravery (or enough booze).

killing with guns is for chicken s

i would think that the opposite of that is true. I can slice oranges or cut my steak with a knife... but the only thing a gun is meant for is shooting something to kill it. besides target practice (which is just making sure that you kill something more efficiently) i can't think of any other use of a gun besides killing...

    track pistols dont count.

Well it certainly made it a load easier to accomplish, don't you think? Pulling a trigger is certainly a of a lot easier than stabbing or choking somebody. People that act like handguns have nothing to do with high homicide rates absolutely baffle me.
