No surprise there. CSKA is a top 3 team in Europe.
MOSCOW (AP) -- Trajan Langdon scored 17 points and Tomas Van Den Spiegel added 16 to lead CSKA Moscow to a 94-75 victory over the Los Angeles Clippers in an exhibition game Saturday.
Center Chris Kaman had 15 points and 11 rebounds and Corey Maggette scored 13 points for the Clippers, one of four NBA teams taking part in a European preseason tour and the first to play in Russia since the Atlanta Hawks in 1988.
CSKA, the Euro League champions, took over midway through the first half. After a basket by Maggette gave the Clippers a 24-23 lead, CSKA outscored them 29-16 the rest of the half to take a 52-39 lead.
Despite a 7-0 run by the Clippers in the third quarter, sparked by a 3-pointer from Tim Thomas, CSKA led 73-57 heading into the fourth.
The Clippers scored the first five points in the final quarter, including a 3-pointer from Maggette, but CSKA did not allow Los Angeles within 10 points on the way to the victory.
Matjaz Smodis and David Vanterpool had 14 points each for CSKA, while Thomas scored 10 for Los Angeles. Former CSKA player Yaroslav Korolev played briefly for the Clippers at the end of the game.
The Clippers have been in Moscow since Oct. 1 for a training camp. They beat BC Khimki 98-91 Friday night.
No surprise there. CSKA is a top 3 team in Europe.
^^ Yeah. They won the euroleague this year.
NBA teams are falling to European teams. I hope San Antonio doesn't lose to one
First Jaka, now Smodis - Slovenians are ripping NBA teams apart!
We watched the game early this morning. They tore the Clippers apart.
And Van Den Spiegel took one of the hardest hits (knee) in the nuts I've seen in a while.
Ettore Messina is a PHENOMENAL coach
i dont give a if its excuses or preseason, unfit etc, no way you lose by 19pts, at least try and make it look respectfully, poor n effort.
thats a russian team....slovenia is not as good as u think
maybe CSKA Moscow can be what Chivas is to MLS soccer...of course, it's a totally different matter to adjust from playing weekend games to playing 82 games a season but still, they're a fun team to watch
1. not playing NBA rules
2. don't know how much these teams care about beating the overseas teams
Playing NBA rules an no, it doesn't realy matter. BB is BB![]()
