Technically we don't have nuclear weapons ... we have nuclear components. There's a big difference, seeing as how having actual weapons would break a few treaties we're part of.

Having nuclear weapons is against quite a few treaties that we have signed. I doubt any administration would break those.
Components are just the actually weapons down broken into a few pieces that would be easily put together.
