I think that Stephen A. Smith is good at what he does on the radio. I enjoy his show and get a kick out of his extremely brash predictions. Having said that, on Friday's ESPN Radio Stephen A. Smith show podcast, he had his friend and ex Mets GM on and made a major bet that the Yankees would beat Kenny Rogers in Game 3 of the ALDS. He ranted about how bad Rogers is, how there's NO WAY ON EARTH Rogers can beat the Yanks etc. He promised his buddy and stressed that he promises on the radio, that should Rogers do what there's no way in he has a chance of doing, beat the Yankees, that he'd take the Mets GM buddy and his family to any restaurant in New York and would smack himself on the radio show on Monday.

I mean Smith was REAMING Rogers and guaranteeing in the strongest of terms that the Yankees would win Game 3.

I can't wait to tune in since Kenny Rogers shut the stupid Yankees out 6-0 and Detroit went on to eliminate the $200 million floppers.

Guys like them never say they were wrong.

Just like Mike and Mike this morning never said "Sorry, we were wrong about the Cardinals"

The heads never say that, they do like they did with the Spurs in 05.

"Well well well, they wont get pas the Sonics!, well well well, they wont get past the Suns!! Well well....."

Yeah, I know. And to them the sports world revolves around the pathetic, choking New York teams.

These guys don't make a living on sports expertise. They make a living on personality, and on listeners' willingness to get emotionally involved in what they have to say despite having no more credibility than your average sports fan's opinion.

Listen for entertainment. It's useless to listen for insight or accountability.

Stephen A. Smith isn't good at anything, unless by "on radio" you mean consistantly coming across a schmuck...

    Stephen A. Smith sucks ass.

I also thought the Yankees would make it to the World Series. But I was never 100% convinced they'd make it. ...The pitching all season long was mediocre. Their bullpin is pathetic (with the exception of Mariano Rivera)

If they pick up some pitching, they'll be back in The World Series next year, for sure.

That's exactly why I listen. Plus its fun when they do have to own up to their gaffes.
