So I'm in the second year of a keeper league with some friends and our live draft is in a little less than two weeks.
We could keep up to two keepers (and use our 1st and 2nd round picks to "draft" them), so I kept Tim Duncan (F/C) and Steve Nash (G).
We start ten players and have three reserves.
We start 3-5 guards, 3-5 centers and 1-2 centers every week.Code:Scoring for Categories 3PT - Three Pointers Made 2 points AST - Assists 2 points BK - Blocks 2 points FGP - Field Goal Percentage 2 points FTP - Free Throw Percentage 2 points PTS - Points 2 points ST - Steals 2 points TF - Technical Fouls 1 point TRB - Total Rebounds 2 points
These players are unavailable to me as they have been kept.
Quick note: This is the last year I can have Duncan on my roster without releasing him into the draft pool. We work on three-year contracts (and I traded with an established team for Duncan after last year's draft), so I'm fully expecting to trade Tim before the deadline so I can either have another possible keeper, playoff push help or a better draft pick.
Everybody else is available to me. I (essentially with keeper picks in rounds 1 and 2) have the eighth overall pick (fourth in odd rounds, ninth in even rounds). Teams with two keepers (such as myself) use the first two rounds to select the keepers and teams with one keeper use its second round pick to select the keeper, leaving them with its first round pick.
Which players should I look at picking early and which would you stay away from (considering my keepers already). I don't have to go center early since I usually had Tim playing center last season anyway.
I want to try and swipe Bogut in the mid-rounds and stash him on my bench and I really want Chris Paul (considering him for my first pick @ R3P4).
Thoughts?
Oh, yeah, if there's more info you want about the league, let me know and I can answer it for you.
P.S. The "technical foul" category is actually a (-1 point) category theoretically. Whoever has the least wins the category and gets the point.
It's lovably called the "Jerk Tax" and has made a difference in wins/losses/playoff positioning more than once last season.

I can't believe Smeagol Cassel is on my team.
Dropped Kaman added N. Krstic
Drop Rasho. He is not a good fantasy pick and should not have even been drafted.
Thanks for the advice guys.
Nazr is a definite wildcard. I am not even a fan of his but I had to go with my instinct.
I can't bring myself to drop Rasho- have to at least give him a match to see how he does.
Regardless of how I do, this is a much better put together team than the one I had last year.
Kori can testify.![]()
Ricky Davis is a 20-5-5 player with an outside shot. In the salary cap challenge on nba.com he is only 3.5 million. With two new teammates that can score well in Mike James and Foye, his assists could go up, plus he gets over a steal a game.
Joe Johnson is another good person to consider. He averaged around 20-4-6.5 last season and now that Claxton will be out for a little bit with an injury, he will be handling the ball more like he did last season. His 3-point shooting is also pretty good. a bad thing about him is that he turns the ball over quite a bit a the point.
Gerald Wallace is also pretty awesome at the SF position, he was the only player to to average over 2 steals and 2 blocks per game last season (2 harder stats to come by that get you a bunch of points in most leagues), he doesn't turn the ball over too much, and he has a solid FG%. His health and his FT% aren't the best though.
I also think Sean May will be a pretty big sleeper this season.
My second team. There are 16 teams in my league so all the big names are fairly spread out.
What do you think?
PG S. Nash
SG M. Ginobili

Brandon Roy, rookie from Portland. Anyone know anything about him?
It is called auto draftand having 16 teams in my league- only so many good guys to go around.
I wasn't thinking about the sixteen team part when I set up my preference list, which for the record was respectable.

Ahhhhh, a TRUE Kobe hater, yay!![]()
In our draft Bosh went in the first round I think, he was I think 3rd or 4th on my list. He stands to get a ton of PT and is quite the scorer, a good blocker and can board. Not to mention he plays the fantasy coveted PF/C.
Know what I did that was stupid? When the draft was at about round 8 I began looking up player stats on NBA.com. Some of the players have only played a couple of minutes this year, so had really ty stats! I was like, wtf...thinking I knew better than the stats and conceding with the written word in the end. What an ass!
I altered my second squad a little.

I need someone to teach me how to draft. I don't how long people are likely to stay available- for example that Hedo would still be there come round seven or whatever.
I don't know what I am doing, thus I panic.
Eddie Griffen will be on most fantasy teams come late in the year.
He won't be drafted but not a bad guy to have.
Oct 13 In an effort to keep team unity, Mobley has offered to reduce his role by coming off the bench, the Los Angeles Times reports.
What about my team?
someone is trying to offer me amare for artest...
is there anyone that thinks amare is going to be 75% of himself?
get sasha, he'll have a breakout year. all the raptors are overrated, peja should be a good pick. take a look at Hawks, they'll suck but fantasy-wise there are some good players there. Darko might be worth a look too.
Sasha is a good pick but I need big people.
I looked at the Hawks and really wanted to pick up Zaza Pachulia but someone already beat me to it in both leagues.
Darko- same story.
