I can't believe this guy is 24.
Kaman Looking At $12 Million Annually?
15th October, 2006 - 11:45 am
Los Angeles Times - Chris Kaman's market value is expected to be between $10 and $12 million annually. The Clippers are expected to make a formal offer to Kaman's agent this month.
"I expected him to improve each year and he has," said Elgin Baylor. "He's gotten more involved in the offense and he's playing a major role on this team."
I like K-man alot. He'll probably pull down 10 mil with the sad state of big men in the league. Plus he looks like Dobber from Coach.
Pretty crazy, but he'll probably get around that.
Just look at Adonal Foyle's contract. Kaman is at least arguably a top ten center in the league, definitely top 15.
He's probably worth about $8 million per year, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him get over $10 million a year.
his stats > dunleavy = 50/5year contract
big man you gotto overpay, and his one of the top centers in the league...
Making at least $11 million this year:
Four Knicks guards (Starbury, Francis, Jalen Rose, and Allan Houston).
Theo Ratliff
Tin men Larry Hughes, K-Mart, C-Webb, and Boozer
Baron Davis and Zach Randolph
Shaquille O'Neal
Richard Jefferson and Shawn Marion
Peja Stojakovic, Wally Szczerbiak, Raef LaFrentz, Antawn Jamison, and Mike Bibby
I'd pay him, under the stipulation that he gets his nasty ass hair cut. He should be able to afford it with an extra $11 mil in his pocket.
Cue Spurs fan arguing that the Spurs will be able to sign Kaman for the MLE or contending that the Clippers would deal him to SA for Beno Udrih, Francisco Elson, and a few extra basketballs.
That's completely unrealistic!
You forgot to include Barry in the trade.
Man, and I was really starting to like Kaman.
Well, he'll probably get it...it's what the market calls for I guess. Name many better young centers.
how does he want it serve?![]()

Clippers Offer Kaman Long-Term Extension
In the LOS ANGELES TIMES, Jason Reid writes that "the Clippers moved to reach a long-term contract agreement with Chris Kaman on Sunday night, offering the productive 7-foot center a five-year, $50-million extension, team sources said. Coach Mike Dunleavy made the guaranteed offer to Kaman's agent, Rob Pelinka, after the team's final day of training camp at Santa Barbara City College. Attempts to contact Dunleavy, Pelinka and Kaman late Sunday were unsuccessful. It was unclear whether Kaman and Pelinka had discussed the offer and informed the Clippers of a decision. Under NBA rules, Kaman has until Oct. 31 to accept."
I'd be slightly surprised if he refuses the offer. From all the reports I've read, he doesn't know what to do with the money he's already made.
He could give some to me.
Don't you already have a plan for getting that bank?
Was that supposed to be all the players making over $11M?
There's a lot more than that.
Or are those just the ones you think are overpaid?
