Also it looks like Sanikidze hasn't played yet in five games for Estudiantes

Still visa problems?
Mahinmi: It looks like he's averaging 6.0 points and 3.6 rebounds in 17.7 minutes per game over seven games so far.

As far as I can tell, these are French League games and his team starts Euroleague play tomorrow.
Scola: From what I can see he has some kind of foot problem (plantar fasciitis?) lingering from last season and hasn't been playing. They expect him to miss the start of the Euroleague season and don't know when he will return to action. (Maybe someone else can clarify/verify this as to when he's expected to return.)

Scola played the whole World Championship, and the last part of Spanish and Euroleague Championship with a plantar fascitis.
His team decided not to play him one month to get a full recovery. At this point they only play Spanish Championship.

Boy, now I would have been pissed if the Spurs had signed Scola, only because I didn't want to have to go through another year of Waiting for Friggin PF To Get Better.
Scola injury is not that bad ( I repeat he played at hi level thru the World Champ and the Euroleague with the injury ). His team just wanted him to be 100 % so they rested him for 1 month in the easiest part of the season.
Gus.

What??? Someone had to say it!
Sanikidze has no more visa problems for 2 or 3 weeks, he is just at the end of the bench and doesn't play for the moment.
Mahinmi has been quite bad since the start of the season. He has signed as backup C behind Hiram Fuller. Pau hasn't succeed to sign Hiram Fuller and they have decided to give the starting C spot at Mahinmi. Mahinmi hasn't been able to play well enough to be the starting C (fouls problems, too thin, too much pressure on him, too raw...). Pau has decided to sign a new C and to put Mahinmi as backup C. After a long search, they have signed Michael Wright. He is undersized for a C but Pau wants to run a lot and hasn't enough money to sign a bigger player (7' players are more expensive than 6'7" players). I don't know him at all but some of you should know him because he was a good NCAA player at Arizona with Arenas, Jefferson and Woods.
Javotkas is playing in Greece with panatinaikos :
first game 14 pts / 6rbds in 19 min.
second game 7 pts / 3 rbds in 11 min.
Thanks, I looked for his stats and didn't see it. Do you have the link so I can follow him throughout the season?
Thank you.![]()
What is it with plantar fascitis? It's the new "sprained ankle", only even more painful and annoying. Everyone seems to have the damned p.f.!
You wonder if the shoe designs have something to do with it.

not good
Since Hiram is still playing for the Jazz, that statement needs some deduckification.
It's not new to basketball. As memory serves me, Dale Ellis suffered with it during the last season that he was with the Spurs.
Since ducks was directly quoting Bruno in that statement, Chump needs some RIF.
First game of the euroleague :
Javtokas : 0 pts / 1 rbds in 4 min
Scola : 7 pts(3-10 FG%) / 3 rbds in 21 min
Mahinmi : 9 pts / 5 rbds/ 4 PF in 17 min
Javtokas still need time to adjust to his new team. Scola come back from his PF. Mahinmi has had a good game against a stron european team (Barcelona).
Mahinmi is going to have to learn how not to foul every second. If he can't learn, he might never make the trip across the ocean.
Agree but don't forget that he is a 19 years old players who plays against vets with a lot of experience. It's not like NCAA where you only play agaisnt young players.
He fouled as much playing against scrubs his age in summer league. That's his one flaw ... but it's a pretty major flaw at this point.
Fouling too much usually means not moving your feet enough on D.
Mahinmi is 19, I wouldn't freak out about him till hes at least 20.
Well he has 12 more days til you freak out then![]()
He played against heavy centers in SL and europe to SL transition isn't easy.
I don't say that Mahinmi isn't foul prone, I just said that he isn't as bad as it looks because :
- He will play PF in nba and not center.
- He plays a lot of zone defense in europe, he will play individual defense in nba.
- He is still 19 years old and hasn't played a lot of BB in his childhood.
I think that foul problem won't be a major concern about Mahinmi in 2 or 3 years.
