I went to the Texas Tech/A&M game last year at Reed Arena. The Aggie fans were a bunch of obnoxious whiners. It was a good time.

This is awesome
I can not wait til the season opens, I have great seats for the season and Reed Arena has a new scoreboard and giant replay screen.....sweet.
I went to the Texas Tech/A&M game last year at Reed Arena. The Aggie fans were a bunch of obnoxious whiners. It was a good time.
They should do something for Shelby Metcalf at A&M. Any Aggie hoop success prior to Gillespie was because of him.
I was at that game, we had no reason to whine, as we kicked Tech's ass.

Hogs will turn some heads this year. We'll be seeing the Horns in Austin too.
That's why I think it was crazy how some of the fans were acting.
...been a long time waiting. i really expect A&M do very well this year, i am talking elite 8 maybe final 4 good.
.....keep dreaming? I think what you saw last year is about as good as it will get for A&M. I was actually cheering for them to make it one more game so their D would be tested against Duke. But I cannot fathom them being any better than last year. Probably looking at the same level of team. Did you guys get any top dawg recruits?
I also think its funny that Ohio State is ranked insanely high only because they got that 7 foot 2 dude timvp loves. Forgot his name. He is gonna be insane.
...you, obviously, don't follow CBB...then. and i am not talking about our disagreement on what A&M will do next year.
I dont get it, you say they make elite 8 or even final four but now you're not talking about it?
I follow bball more closely than fball when it comes to ncaa.
you asked if we got any top recruits...asking that question, is, well...dumb. two reasons:
1) A&M has 3 in the rivals 150, and considering there are over 300 division 1 teams thats good (i don't care what t.u. did)
2) Gillespie gets more out his players than anybody i have ever seen in CBB
...A&M is going to slap t.u. this year, mark it down. and for good measure Deandre Jordan is with A&M for the 2007 class, but you don't need the best players to win...you just need the right ones.
I don't follow every team close as , I watch my team and have no idea who you got. So do you know who UT recruited this summer? If you do, you're a ut obsessed fan, if you don't, i guess that makes you dumb too? It was just a question
Okay, I didn't know that.1) A&M has 3 in the rivals 150, and considering there are over 300 division 1 teams thats good (i don't care what t.u. did)
They play good defense that's for damn sure, but don't forget it took a 30 foot three pointer by your most respected guard to take us out AT college station. It was arguably the best UT team in a while but the same goes for A&M. I hope you can agree with me on that last point at least.2) Gillespie gets more out his players than anybody i have ever seen in CBB
If Kori can ins ute my 1on1 vbookie idea, then count me in for a bet, against you, when that date comes....A&M is going to slap t.u. this year, mark it down. and for good measure Deandre Jordan is with A&M for the 2007 class, but you don't need the best players to win...you just need the right ones.
of course i know who t.u. recruited this year, thats just part of following the big 12; t.u. had a good recruiting class, but it was not THAT much better than A&M's if you ask me. plus, A&M has all their key guys back.
i agree that t.u. had a very good team last year, and A&M had their best in a long time. but typically, you look at things from a texas perspective. A&M had t.u. beat in the big 12 tourney was it not for a spectacular play by...hmm, well his name escapes me. but bottom-line is you guys were fortunate as well...as was LSU to hit that last second shot against the Aggs in the NCAAs.
1. t.u. is good
2. A&M will be better
3. Gillespie is the best CBB coach
What UT accomplished last year is not bad at all, considering their entire bench consisted of one A.J. Abrams....check out the roster, we had a 6 man team for most of the season. This next year we should have decent bench again. Barnes offensive strategy is incredibly lame imo, but it works. His defensive schemes are solid though. Dude we have a baby shaq this year too. I don't think A&M will beat the out of us like you say it will be a good game to watch.
It is super lame that we lost Tucker and Gibson, but oh well, we have players who are ready for the next level.
I was on the phone with mookie a few mins ago, he told me to ask you why don't you talk about USC basketball this much?
i love SC bball, but other than me and kewlkat i don't think anybody would care. its not like SC football and A&M sports, i would only be talking to myself...
but SC got some nice recruits for this year and a couple nice ones for next year lined up. i don't know whats up with Jefferson though...
1. yes1. t.u. is good
2. A&M will be better
3. Gillespie is the best CBB coach
2. very possible
3. Big 12, ok...all of CBB, no.
A&M returned their top 6 scorers from last year, and their top 6 rebounders, plus they have 3 great Freshman who will be able to get some PT also.
I will know more about them by December.
The trip to UCLA will be telling.
UCLA and LSU are a lil too high for my liking. My boys are also a tad too low for my liking. I think Wisconsin is better then LSU and UCLA. The country better watch out for dem Badgers!! We gonna make a run at the le fo sho!!! Thought you knew lil nucca!!!
Id also take my boys over Pitt as well!
You could have saved yourself a lot of typing if you had just posted you hadn't followed A&M close enough to make an informed comment.keep dreaming? I think what you saw last year is about as good as it will get for A&M. I was actually cheering for them to make it one more game so their D would be tested against Duke. But I cannot fathom them being any better than last year. Probably looking at the same level of team. Did you guys get any top dawg recruits?
I'll agree with you it was the best t.u. team in a while. Best A&M squad? It was the best squad in the last several years, but this year's will be betterIt was arguably the best UT team in a while but the same goes for A&M. I hope you can agree with me on that last point at least.
Acie Law
Joseph Jones
Dom Kirk
Josh Carter
Antanas Kavaliauskas
Donald Sloan
Derrrick Roland
Bryan Davis
Learn those names, you'll be hearing them a lot this year![]()
So last year's A&M squad wasn't the best to date or it was? You evaded that question pretty well. I don't give a about your tall european or anyone else, all i know is Acie Law is one bad mother er in college. Will be interesting to see if he makes it in the nba, but I would not mind him at all running the show at Ut. He's baaaad.
I don't follow a&m bball outside of their games with us, but I do know its pretty lame to say they will make the ing elite eight or even final four even if you are returning last year's starters, and have your 3 top recruits. BFD. It takes more than a bad ass defense to win in the big twelve, and also a little luck. Our conference will be BAD next year, and preseason polls really mean nothing in college basketball.

things havent been the same since they lost their Slo , and now theyve lost their Pompey?
I fully expect them to make it to the Elite Eight. It's pretty lame to say "big ing deal, they're returning 4 of 5 starters" when a lot of teams in college hoops are only returning 2 or so.I do know its pretty lame to say they will make the ing elite eight or even final four even if you are returning last year's starters, and have your 3 top recruits. We're bringing back 6 of the top 7 players in the rotation, adding the best backcourt tandem in the state of Texas from last year in Sloan and Roland, and adding athletic depth in our front court.
But if you want to bag on them because it's A&M, go ahead and keep talking out your ass, it's what bandwagon horn fans do best.
Winning the conference really doesn't mean in college hoops, it's all about getting into the tourney and doing your damage there.
With the defense we'll play, we'll be in the game every night, even when we're not shooting well.
And having Acie and Joseph Jones on the court together is going to be one of a tandem for teams to deal with (you should remember Jones as well, seeings he outscored The Marcus by 27 points in Austin last year).
What's ridiculous is ranking t.u. in the top 25 when they're returning exactly ZERO starters from last year.
...all of CBB.
A&M is a horrible matchup for UCLA. Yeah, I know they made the finals last year, but they lost both Farmar and Hollins, and I'm not sold on Luc and Shipp. Affallo's a nice player, but he can't carry the team. He should have went pro while his stock was as high as it was.
I read the release saying that the Aggies were named as the opponent in the Wooden game this summer and couldn't believe it. I guess that shows the rest of the country that your program has arrived, but why schedule a team returning everyone from a Sweet 16 run and plays a bruising, defensive-orientated style of ball that's the an hesis of what you team does? Go schedule UConn or something.
I think they play LSU in Baton Rouge like three or four days before they go to Pauley. If the Ags can get past both of them and don't stumble to any of the lesser teams on the sked, they could be ranked in the top 5 with a first place vote or two when conference play starts.
The Horns'll be OK, but we're going to take some lumps before the tourney starts. We'll have a ten or eleven loss season while Durant, DJ, and James find their places. I'm cool with that. Florida proved last year that it's more important to iron out all the kinks with a young team than to win the conference.
