If a Democrat complains of voting fraud invariable, some right winger will drag out the old LBJ in Duval County fraud or JFK in Chicago to make a point about how the Democrats are just as bad (if not worse). Anything happen anymore recently than that? You have to go back 40, 50 years to come up with something?

    How about 2006?

Jefferson County Voters Continue To Raise Concerns About Voting Machines
    October 28,2006

Early voting for the November election started Monday, and during this first week of it, Jefferson County has experienced high turnout.
By the end of Saturday, which was the sixth day of early voting, the Jefferson County Clerk's office was reporting that 7,416 had cast ballots.
When you add the number of absentee ballots mailed in, turnout stands at 7,774 voters.
Rogers Park (2,200 voters) and the Nederland Recreation Center (1,673 voters) have seen the most voters of all the nine early voting sites in the county.
Early voting runs through Friday, November 3rd.
KFDM continues to get complaints from Jefferson County voters who say the electronic voting machines are not registering their votes correctly.
Friday night, KFDM reported about people who had cast straight Democratic ticket ballots, but the touch-screen machines indicated they had voted a straight Republican ticket.

Some of those voters including Lamar University professor, Dr. Bruce Drury, believe the problem is a programming error.
Saturday, KFDM spoke to another voter who says it's not just happening with straight ticket voting, he says it's happening on individual races as well, Jerry Stopher told us when he voted for a Democrat, the Republican's name was highlighted.
Stopher said, "There's something in these machines, in this equipment, that's showing Republican votes when you vote for Democrats, and I know Ms. Guidry's a nice lady, and she's working hard, but her theory that my fingernail was somehow over the Republican button is just unrealistic, my fingernail was not. The equipment is not working properly as far as I can tell."
Jefferson county clerk Carolyn Guidry says her office has checked the calibration of the machines and found no problems.
She says the electronic system is very sensitive.
She told KFDM that's a concern she has expressed since county commissioners chose the machines.
Guidry advises voters to carefully review their choices, and make any changes before pressing the vote button.
Another reminder for voters is that just because you press the straight party button, doesn't mean you can't got to individual races and vote for a candidate of another party.

Well Ciro lost. But he said there was and kept going
to court. He is the dimm-o-crap, not me. Was there
anything there? Nothing was ever proven with LBJ
    either.

There was a question about the number of people registered to vote in Henry Cuellar's dad house and other places in Duvall County, but seriously, Ciro is a lazy campaigner who doesn't like to muck-it-up with the life-first crowd and other Cuellar supporters.

I just don't believe these stories of faulty machines. I just finished voting and, even if you vote straight party, you have to go through each screen so that you can see your choices. Then you have to review your choices again before you hit the little red vote button. If a person says their votes went to the wrong person, then they didn't review their choices very carefully!

As with so many instances involving computers and other electronics - it's user error!

I agree with you. 15 damned pages. Wow, and
then the like you say the review process. Yeah
I voted a split ticket and there was 5 pages of
review. But I maintained by " 'n" rights,
    I voted.

That isn't where the fraud occurs in the demonstrations on Fox News. Don't you guys pay attention?

Where does the fraud occur with electronic voting? I heard John Fund (with the Wall Street Journal) today and he said that electronic voting machines have been in use in one form or another for 30 years - and there isn't ONE INSTANCE of do ented fraud.

He said that sometimes the precinct workers make mistakes, because so many of them are elderly and not very computer savvy - but there's a big difference between making a mistake and voter fraud.

Where did I say I voted straight party? I'm just telling you how the process works and repeating the directions that were given to me by the poll worker. Now don't you feel

Where does the fraud occur with electronic voting?
In the new machines, during the tallying process.

Don't count on the M$M to help save the day....

The theft of American elections is a media issue
by Andi Novick, Northeast Citizens for Responsible Media
    October 31, 2006

The loss of our right to vote (or have it counted) is a media issue which is why you are all getting this email. I've talked a lot about the effects of media ownership consolidation on the destruction of democracy by permitting a few corporations to fail to report the essential information we need to be a self-governing people. Not only does the main stream media refuse to investigate and report on the impossible discrepancies between the 'official' count and the exit polls, but they are actively complicit in this fraud. ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, Fox and the AP own the exit polls and have defied John Conyers' request for the raw data, keeping that data secreted from even qualified independent researchers.

We are all trying to take optimism from the lead democrats have in the polls going into the election. Keep in mind that they had these leads in 2002, when the Republicans got themselves total control, and they had even greater promise going into the 2004 elections. If you are still not convinced of the massive fraud that is going on, you can look at my 'cliff notes' version about the theft, which I wrote thinking people might read a few pages as opposed to an entire book (http://www.freepress.org/departments/display/16/2006/18... ) .

Exit polls have historically been seen as the gold standard of reliability and are still considered as such everywhere in the world, except here. How is it that exit polls were relied on for a half century in this country and then suddenly they were wrong in 2000, and again in 2002 and again in 2004? Steven Freeman, author of Was the 2004 Presidential Election Stolen? Exit Polls, Election Fraud, and the Official Count, (http://www.electionintegrity.org/book ) had analyzed the exit polls of the swing states of Pennsylvania, Ohio and Florida in 2004 and concluded that the odds of the exit polls being as far off as they were are 250 million to one! And still the media utterly failed to question the evidence before its eyes.
