Heh. Two of my student staff are Mavs fans. One of them works today from 11-5.
Unfortunately, he'll just talk about how it's still football season so he doesn't even care about the Mavs yet.

One of my other student staff is from San Antonio, and she and I sit back and talk Spurs frequently. She cut out an article on the win from the chronicle, with a nice shot of Duncan and Elson together, and taped it to my Mavs fan's computer.
I am not allowed to do that, clearly, but that was ing awesome.
Who rubs in a regular season game? Add the "3 rings" thing while you're at it.

When you have a rivalry as intense as this one and when you talk as much as this kid does, you deserve to have a loss rubbed in. As they rub it in when the Spurs lose (in a spectacular fashion, or to either of the Texas teams). He was a total when the Mavs beat the Spurs, but I was as nice as could be when the Mavs lost to the Heat. To his face anyway.
It's friendly rivalry. I don't bring up the three rings argument often - it's what is happening now that relevant. And now? We just took a game that was big for us.
Besides, taunting him over the Texans performances hasn't really worked out so well this season. . .
I was impressed by the spurs ability to overcome such a complete and thorough beating that they took from the mavs last year. Kudos to the spurs.

As close as the race between the 2 teams is very likely to be, I'd imagine every time they face each other this regular season is important....tie-breakers and all that...head-to-head, division, conference.
I mean, come on, who is even talking about the Heat anymore?
Why do they have to keep bringing it up that they won the NBA Finals?
