I always thought Jeter was a damn good defensive shortstop.
3-Time Winner.
I always thought Jeter was a damn good defensive shortstop.
You and everyone else.
I thought he would be dripping with those. He only has 3?
I find that more surprising.
adam everett got robbed.
It was more of a joke when Palmerio won it after playing only like 30 games at first base.
Jeter is a horribly overrated defensive shortstop. He has average to below average range and an average arm. He's clutch and a great leader but there's no way in he should be winning gold gloves.
The Lady Bing award is the most meaningless in sports. It's hockey's way of basically calling the winner a giant pussy.
After that would be the Heisman. That award is constantly given to the wrong person - the downtown athletic club is a joke and should never be taken seriously.
The Heisman has been a crap award for almost 20 years. Barry Sanders was the last player to win it who was the BEST player in all of football, not just the best player on a team that has a shot to win it all. The year Barry won it, we were 10-2 with no championship hopes. We were only on TV twice that year, and lost both times (Neb/uo). He wasn't even on the pre-season watch list that went out. He got noticed because he was that good. Try finding a player from a 2-loss team that no one heard about before the season even getting a trip to NYC today.
If Jeter was a Brewer he would never sniff any kind of defensive award.
Word. ALTHO... veteran 2B Gruz won his 1st ever while playing for the Royals. I thought that was nice.
True. That would be Exhibit B.
I'd go so far as to venture that most SS are better defensively than Jeter
