Another Republican Resigns from Congress-under fire

WASHINGTON — Rep. Bob Ney resigned his House seat Friday, three weeks after he pleaded guilty to felony charges in the ongoing scandal involving former Republican lobbyist Jack Abramoff.

Ney, 52, who had maintained for years that he had done nothing wrong, was the first member of Congress to plead guilty in the corruption scandal surrounding Abramoff that also has touched the White House.
