Can someone please tell me why the NBA switched to a different ball? Also, did the NBA really add a rule that players can't yell?

    Thanks.

They switched the balls to sell product, pure and simple. Why else would they do so without consulting the players?

And they are cutting down on the whining to refs. That actually looks to be a good change.
