I doubt it would. His progress continues to amaze partially because of the trainers the Spurs employ, Duncan's willingness to defer and his fame in San Antonio.
...What would have happened if San Antonio and Pop had pulled the trigger on the trade for Jason Kidd.

I dont know if Parker's productivity would have kept increasing the way it has if Kidd came to Town??
I doubt it would. His progress continues to amaze partially because of the trainers the Spurs employ, Duncan's willingness to defer and his fame in San Antonio.
As the stats prove, Tony has really improved since he started with Eva![]()
had parker played with the nets, im sure he wouldnt get the trainers like how spurs got ppl to come on board to work with the players...
jason kidd is a bag for not comin to the spurs, that whole summer d us hard with the draft picks, barbosa, who else did we give away......had we kept him, there was no need for beno, and we wouldve drafted josh howard hahahahahha
What is this "Parker with the Nets" crap? He was NEVER going there, because there was never going to be a trade. We had the ducats to sign Kidd outright. Why would we want to give away talent when it was unnecessary? It was going to be a Kidd/Parker backcourt. The player that would be gone would be Manu, because we wouldn't have had the caproom to re-sign him in '04.
that summer pissed me off, kidd d on us, jermaine decides to stay with pacers, brand stayed with the clippers....i think we nearly got kobe the year after had we not sign extentions to tp+gino....
the kid will improve but he needs to learn more about tempo and when give up doing stupid thingd, but believe TP will be very close to be a superstar.
The real tragedy about that is that Jermaine most likely would've signed with the Spurs had Isiah been fired before he was resigned. But, who knows what would've happend with Manu and so on. Things worked out for the best I'd say.
And who's to say Kidd wouldn't have improved (he was already really good) under Pop's discipline and playing next to Tim? Minus those two things, would Tony have turned out so well? Still, I'm glad Kidd stayed in Jersey.
That's true. Kidd could have very well improved here. All we can do is guess.
I'm not sure "scary" is the word. Kidd would have been amazing here. He is a player, like Duncan, who drags his teams to victory. Tony's proven to be more of a scoring guard and there is a decent chance we could have had both Tony and Kidd on the floor at the same time. Now that would be scary--for other teams.![]()
I still think Kidd would have been the best bet for us. I say we do alot with a pass first point guard. We get into these offensive lulls that just wouldnt happen if we have a pass first guard at the helm.
Whose to say the Spurs might not have won more than 1 le in the past 3 years with Kidd?
Kidd is amazing in space, not so much in the half court. Teams would have employed the same sag off defense for his poor outside shooting.
In fairness to Kidd, the only numbers to really drop was his scoring and about 1 assist, and that coincided with the arrival of Half a Season. His rebounding, already amazing, went up a full board, and his steals were up, too.
no kidd told spurs thinks spurs front office still was trying to convince kidd
then kidd called back
if you were here when it happened you would have the inside scoop on the whole deal
spurs front office ed up on kidd
had we sign jermaine oneal, we wouldve won all those rings, the frontcourt was set and just resign parker and thats it, we can afford to release ginoboli, and just find a decend SG with bowen at the 3....
Yeah--but one good thing--
Jason Kidd;s wife is hot--much hotter than Eva--would have been great having her to watch on the sidelines during timeouts!![]()
Damn, we would have had Eva and Joumana, I'm excited just as the thought of those two...
In all fairness, Kidds numbers are still pretty good, he's averaging almost twice as many assists and rebounds, and that's playing with Vince Carter, imagine him on a team like the Spurs...
I never said that Parker was going to the Nets - i am putting out there would Parker have shown this amount of improvement with Kidd in a Spurs uniform.
Don't forget the salary cap hit the Spurs would have took from signing this guy too. He makes about as much as Duncan. No way this team looks the way it does today with them signing Kidd.
I was admantly AGAINST this trade and couldn't understand why the Spurs even flirted with it in the first place.
Sometimes the best trades are the ones you don't make.
TP is getting better and better
I'm glad we didn't bring Kidd
What about Kidd's reputation as a coach killer? Of course, Pop enjoys Tim and Holt's full confidence but what if Kidd found reason to be upset?
He hasn't 'killed' Lawrence Frank. But then, he's a good coach.
